Where are the 4 player split screen games?

Seriously! Do developers think that only online matters now days? To me it seams like developers priorities are as follows:

1. Online!
2. Online!
3. Online!
4. Single Player
5. Split screen multiplayer (it could be left out, how cares??)

Well I say that they are very wrong! I have friends and I'm sure that all of you do! Isn't it fun to sit down together put a game on and play? I sure am enjoying killing my friends in COD4 4player split screen. Or playing the Club. But COD4 got boring because of it's very limited maps in 4player split screen and the Club...well I'm sure I don't have to explain that.

I wish that developers would put a little more effort in 4player split screen. COD4 was on the right track but it offered very few maps. like 8-9 maps. You can't play with that forever. Also there where very few weapons to choose from and no customization at all.

I was hoping that R6V 2 would have 4 player split screen but it doesn't even have 2player split screen. Terrible!! What's going on here?

Come on devs make some games that we can enjoy with our friends from the couch!!

What do you guys think??? Will there be any good games that support 4 player split screen?

yeah gears is 2 player max on split screen

Mine hasn't crapped out. That problem has mainly been dealt with as long as you buy an elite or halo edition (or anyhting manufacturered after july 07 date pretty much) and even if it does crap out, it can be replaced in mere days for free.Phazevariance

Maybe I should consider buying one than! It's just that all the money...I could spend on games insted of a console:D But if there are no 4player games that what's the need? :D

PES 2008, I can't get enough of this game with my friends, 2 players vs 2 players is the most fun.

multiplayer? I thought you could but honestly I hated Gears multiplayer compared to Cod2 or 4 and Haloblue_hazy_basic

having 3 brothers i would realy prefer games to have more one console multiplayer options etc.

call of dutys main dowlfall to not making it better IMO or in others a lot better, than halo 3, is split screen online. thats why i think halo 3 is better

indeed, and imo wether it be with ur mates or family. there is nothing like beating someone at fight night, or pro evo, or halo whatever ur playing when theyre in the room, especially when u actually have to determine whose better on pro :)

exactly, i think some games miss out on these selling points, i mean i was so close to giving COD4 back when i found out the lack of split screen online, but its good to play when none of my bros do, otherwise we just stick to halo and pro

LITTLEBIGPLANET WILL BE THE BEST its not split screen its on one whole screen 1-4 and you can can get 3 other friends and play other pppl online like (4 on your console and your versing/teaming with 4 others online!!) magnificent game aoll of you's have to get it it comes out September!!

My guess is that most developers nowadays tend to focus either on online multiplayer or single player when designing games to get the most out of their graphics engine, then when they attempt 4 player split screen they realize that rendering a level four times on the same machine can be terrible in the framerate department. They also ask themselves "Should we really work our ***** off to get offline multiplayer to work when most people play online nowadays?".
