[QUOTE="Tragic_Kingdom7"][QUOTE="jg4xchamp"]I don't think going back to its roots is wise. It kind of milked that sty-le of skateboarding for all it was worth. Honestly no clue where they are going with Tony Hawk at this point. THey seemed to have hit rock bottom this time. jg4xchamp
I don't know. I think a some cleverly designed objectives and more dynamic, well thought out skate parks could breath a little bit of life into the old formula. It might not ever be groundbreaking again, but a game that goes back to the series roots could be decent.
But then again, you could be right. That formula might just straight-up be burned out, why might be why they overreached so much with Ride.
A lot of the issues with ride is that skateboard thing. I am curious to see how the game could have been if that wasn't such an issue. Wonder if they might take another shot at trying to get it right. With Ride failing like it did, I'm not sure they'll see it as a pragmatic option to try and get it right. There's a better cost/benefit ratio in just coming out with a typical Tony Hawk game.
Still, I too am curious to see what the game would be like if the technology wasn't crap. I imagine it still wouldn't be all that strong due to the massive stripping down that the gameplay/environments received to accomodate the technology.
