The point of multiple cores is being able to run a large number of threads. The 360's CPU is a multiple-core approach, whereas Cell's architecture has one 'core' and a bunch of sub-cores, each of which can run a thread. In fact, PS3's Cell can run more simultaneous threads than 360's CPU can.WeeWeeJumboThat is ture ;) However game engines seem to be made for PC cores, then ported over if the company wishes. The xbox versions. Well that is easy enough. PS3 core, would require a lot of memory and prossessing handeling to be re-written. Im so glad i dont do that low level programming, as it would be a pain in the ass to modify the basics of a game without screwing up the upper coding too much.
wow, ps3 hardware has been announced for years now and people still dont know anything about the Cell cpu, Shakes Head.
