Where is he? Because Onlive have filed for bankruptcy and is now under new managment.

LMAO at anyone that bought into onlive and anyone that hyped that garbage, hot garbage! this guy sounds like he should of been banned a long time ago for advertising
This really caught my attention on Joystiq.
"Despite its claim of two million users, our source says that the average peak amount of concurrent users was around 1,800. The two million number accounts for anyone who has signed up for the service; actual usage was remarkably lower."
So much for this being a success.

I'm not at all surprised they laid everyone off, but I am surprised that the new ownership is rehiring a portion of the staff and is going to continue all services and development, even for the short term. The business model didn't work, and if payroll cuts were all that were needed to reverse their losses, they would have happenend Before bankruptcy, not after. According to Bloomberg, they're even keeping management intact, so it's not like new ownership believes the company was poorly run, so where do they see a turnaround?
The only thing they have of value is patents, and they don't need to throw away money on the operations to profit on those. I'd think they were trying to put up a brave face to try and resell the company to a sucker, but any prospective buyers will now know what a money pit the actual operations are. Any sale would be for the value of the patents, and nothing more. I just don't get it.
Oh well, I guess Riku and his buddies can at least get a bit more time before all the money they spent on games goes up in smoke.:?
... And that Gaikai sale price is starting to look like much less of a deal.
well he is going to be back defending GT5 and the ps3 pretty soon.Tessellation
Assuming GT5 takes him back after he scorned it :P
According to The Verge, it's all just a maneuver to allow OnLive to be purchased while also getting out of some sort of financial commitment. Essentially they're selling all of OnLive's IP to whoever is purchasing OnLive, declaring bankruptcy to get out of whatever the commitment is (the classiest rumour being that this is all designed to screw OnLive employees out of their stock in the company), and then restarting the company as a new entity under whoever the purchaser is.
This really caught my attention on Joystiq.

I don't know what legal maneuvering could allow them to sell the valuable assets they have, while leaving the debt, AND screwing stockholders at the same time, but if it exists, I don't like it. Doesn't the SEC exist to insure management acts in the best interest of the shareholders? That's a rumor I hope is bunk, because the world it presents is disgusting.

LOL!
Damn,that's some fine bussiness,right there!
Gotta give credit for these guys for lasting this long, though, with such abysmal userbase!
Gaikai won't be in trouble now that the masterminds of Sony own it
Davekeeh
I'm starting to believe that you're Rikusaki....
[QUOTE="LegatoSkyheart"]
Rikusaki has long since returned to the PS3.
wis3boi
so in otherwords, the same quality then, only you actually get to play offline :P
From what I've understood he realized he was missing out on some games while riding on Onlive's boat for awhile. Or something of that nature.Gaikai won't be in trouble now that the masterminds of Sony own it
Davekeeh
 I was thinking that this line was going to appear sometime in the future after reading the article on PCGamer. How predictable.
The masterminds that somehow took the gaming company that was way ahead of everyone for two gens and went straight to last place are masterminds???? Wow you must set the bar pretty low. They must be super god like masterminds at Ninty since they went from last to miles ahead first place this gen. And MS must be super super god like masterminds for raking in as money as it has!
Then buy from GOG. Whatever.I think this pretty much proves people want to own their games not rent them. If only DD would follow suit... but that wont ever happen

No you dont, and the new Steam rules left that pretty clear

The technology was way too ahead of its time. The industry and consumer base was just not ready for it, really.
In other words: Rikusaki's adventures in the primitive past came to an unfortunate end. Thus, the beacon of truth that was Rikusaki returned to the year 2046, for the announcement of Half Life 3.
Rikusaki should back Linux instead. As opposed to OnLive, Linux is actually going places, especially with Valve on board now.
You never owned the games in the first place. Even disk based games have a eula. You pretty have the same licensing as someone who bought their game from DD.I think this pretty much proves people want to own their games not rent them. If only DD would follow suit... but that wont ever happen
