I don't know, TC, but I sure as shit wouldn't recommend Half-Life 2 to someone unless I didn't like them.
4 of those games are good.

All five of them are, as a matter of fact

Nah, one of them's a high school friendship sim.

Bullshit.
Regardless, if it got put on a real machine, it might get played.

Just get the vanilla version on PS3, I guess. It's definitely not an adequate replacement for P4G, but it's pretty sweet in its own regard.
That, or wait for P5.
The Last of Us
MGS4 (not fucking MGS5)
WarHawk
Resistance 3
Portal 2
(I know my list isnt great but I like to recommend forgotten games nobody would recommend)
The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past - For the pinnacle of 2D gaming, and a wonderful fantasy quest in it's own right.
Portal - For the mindfuck puzzles and hilarious humour.
Civilization IV Complete - For the best, most endlessly replayable strategy game ever.
The Last Of Us - For probably the most brutal, terrifying, anguishing action game ever.
The Mass Effect Trilogy (cheating...) - For probably the best game world, story and characters ever, and an excellent, replayable action RPG saga.
These are the one's that spring to mind. There are always more of course, but this'll do for now.
None, you are gonna die, don't waste it on video games.
If I was gonna die soon I'd do nothing but play video games. Ideally with friends, family, great music, my favourite foods and expensive whiskey in the same room... but games first and foremost ;)

That doesn't track. If P4 is such a superlative experience, playing P5 would probably be a downgrade. I wouldn't say go play Spirit Tracks because someone doesn't have access to ALttP.

No, but you'd say play Ocarina, or ALBW.
I'm assuming P5 will be better. Which is not an unreasonable supposition, because the biggest problems with P4 have all been addressed in P5, from the looks of things.
Half-Life 2 guys? Really? That poorly paced, mechanically dismal piece of garbage is essential?

Truly the correct answer. Travel, create something, bang two women at the same time. If you're gonna die, make your final experiences actually count.

I like you.

He likes Mad Men and has seen The Wire!!
What a hero.
Well, I could list down 5 games, but I think only TWEWY, or "The World Ends With You" on the DS truly deserves the "must-be-played-before-you-die" title. The battle system was awesome, the graphics were pretty cool, and the story was just phenomenal. It was the most memorable game I've ever played, and I think everyone should have a chance to play it before they die. Don't mind those who say otherwise, or you'll regret it.
But if you have the time to play 4 more, I would HIGHLY recommend:
1. Persona 3 (preferably FES)
2. Legend of Zelda: a Link Between Worlds
3. Bravely Default
4. Final Fantasy VI
(And yes, most of these are RPG's.)
expensive whiskey in the same room...
With video games? What a waste of good whiskey.
Damn straight. Go to the lake and grill instead. Fish, swim, bonfire, spend time with the gf or wife under the stars on a blanket. F*ck some damn video games.
