Violent games, Movies ,music, and violence in the media and on the news . What causes these crazy people to commit crimes??? Jack Thompson blames games, (mostly just Rockstar) .The media blames everything except movies . I think its the greed for money, and the sick minds of certain people. My moms say the people who create these games and movies are just as sick as the people who commit the crimes,but she doesn't understand, violence occurred before electricity was even invented, and violence is all around,and that is were our little minds get the idea for these games and movies. I look at it as entertainment, Whats a horror movie without a little violence and scare? Whats a good cop story without thieves and murderers?? huh?What are the cops gonna chase after? 15y/o kids who illegally download music???
We were killing each other way before guns appeared :? I honestly believe humans are inherently violent. We just require the opportunity and enough incentive to do so.Violent media do have an effect, but I'm not really convinced it's the direct cause of violence.
None of thee directly cause violence, its a combination. Lets put it into numbers. Say 1 out of every thousand people have the "potential" to go beserk and commit a crime, heist, murder, whatever. However, each of these 1 out of a thousand people only has a x% chance of doing such a thing. This percent of chance, x, depends on a number of variables, such as parenting, friends, what they see on TV etc. So, violent video games, movies, music with violent lyrics, all add up to decide whether the individual has a chance of becoming a "violent" person. Its not a single one of these; its all of them

Drugs, adultery, crime, poverty etc. are the real causes. You would have to be mentally challenged to go out and kill without reason because of what's shown on the media.
We're violent because that's human nature.Government officials only blame video games,TV,and music only to explain events that are instinctual.They are only scapegoats to our own nature.
There was more crime before Television came up or games and movies. People get executed for stealing...their heads got cut off. Can you imagine? There was much more WAR thousand years ago. More people killed. Man were still a man. Going to the jungle or wherever to hunt. Hunt for food. Kill a big fierce beast to cook and eat for dinner. Now? People are like too kind...only the poor places where nobody has money to afford them selves to buy a ticket for the movies let alone buy a TV or gaming system. If you think violent comes from Art like games and movies...think again.
