Not counting just this generation.

Sony for meh, as much as I loved growing up with mario, the games I truly will never forget were played on Sony consoles.
XBOX went from obscurity to household name in the face of fierce competition and in only 2 consoles, they win.
I gotta give it to Microsoft, who would have thought they'd make it this far, the jump from xbox to xbox 360 has shown a huge improvement in MS overall, they have truly earned their spot in the gaming industry, the 360 is doing great, with a greal lineup of games, ( + easier to develop games for it)
ofcourse Nintendo's great, but I didn't expect anything lesser from them, I knew they will always have a solid presence in the industry, I love Nintendo but I have to admit they are alienating some of their original gamers with the direction they are taking, so points down for that,
...and Sony, they just took a step backwards this generation, though they are furiously trying to fix it, maybe it might be too late, the damage has already been done, massive points down for that,
...EDIT: Thought you meant better for this generation, my bad, well overall for all gens I have to say Nintendo has been better, I enjoyed games more on Nintendo systems than the other ones

Nintendo did that against Sega and others in the 90's
and sony did it with the ps1, so microsoft have a while to go. i think next gen they might be serious contenders and could win. (all the consoles have a chance of winning next gen really)Sony with the PS3: hardware reliability, the most hardware packed in for the money, good free online service that continuously improves with timely updates, timely great exclusive games both disc and from PSN Store, price cuts at perfect times to bring the system down to allow all types of incomes to afford it, many nice bundles and HDD sizes for all, and now a sleek Slim version with a 120gb HDD for only $299.
