Which console took this year? 360 or Wii.

Do you think for the second year running the 360 took the year or the Wii.

This is not about who sold the most consoles, only honest opinions plz.

A GOTY, getting to first after the competition has a1-year head start, I'd say the Wii won.

The 360 had a good year, don't get me wrong. Just not as many distinct acheivements like the Wii.

The Wii had the best first-year that any console has ever had. It actually had, effectively, two GOTYs as TP nearly swept the GOTY awards last year from every other major publication.

Even if you only want to count SMG though, that's still great.

It sold like corndogs at a fatcamp, and its software sales are rapidly approaching the 360's if they haven't already passed them.

There really isn't anything bad to say about this first year. They put out 7 or 8 great quality titles in this first year, and they've put out a lot of entertaining stuff as well that might not be so deep, but is still a heck of a lot of fun to play.

I agree with you, the 360 had a great year but even when it had a 1 year head start the wii beat it by sales, had some great games and it won GOTY.

It also had 2 AAA VC titles so overall I think the wii had the best year

It most certainly is about who sold the most consoles. The console business is all about carving out market share. That is why Microsoft has poured billions into this technology sector: To compete, control and dominate home entertainment.

Nintendo has excellent name recognition from this gen of hardware. They have, to this date, blown the doors off of Microsoft. Sony is still putting along and will probably overtake Microsoft for second place and quite possibly first place when all is said and done.

Seriously, playing Halo on line isnot hardcore.

If you make your living and survival off of games and practice day in and day out to compete for money: that would be hardcore. Sitting in your parents living room after doing your homework or chores, is not hardcore.

This year was more important for the Wii than for the 360. How's that.

Oh a whole, software wise, the 360 wiped the floor with the Wii.

so how many good games (non casual) wii offered this year? and as a gamer, do you think they're better than the AAA lineup X360 offered throughout the whole year?

there's something fishy about that that i can't place...

i say wii, simply and only because of super mario galaxy. although 360 has some excellent titles.
