Which console will be best online?

Hi everyone, long time PlayStation owner here (had ps1,2,3.... and then another 3 after my first one gave me a weird yellow light.) now i'm not gonna lie i initially went with the ps3 because I was broke most of the time and didn't want to pay a fee to play online that and I liked god of war and metal gear solid.... but with the new systems coming out (and me finally making enough to not care so much about a fee to play online) I think i'm leaning towards getting an Xbox one. I remember having an awful time trying to connect online or finding a stable server to play on whenever i played games online on my ps3. What are you're guys thoughts on the new consoles and online play. Is psn going to be better now that they're charging as well? Should I stay with PlayStation or go to Xbox

PSN will most likely improve when it comes down to the connection, but paying for PS+ provides more value with their free games.

XBL will probably be better for online multiplayer, PS+ will probably have better deals.

MS network all day long will be light years ahead of anything else out there. You see all the PSN problems and that is upgraded????????? No thanks.

they'll both be great id imagine. I mean, arent they at this point reletively close to the same thing? I will say that the controller advantage the 360 had last gen (and oh did it ever... the dualshock3 sucked balls) the dualshock 4 is pretty damn close to perfect. I can see both communities having a great online community for casual games and competitive games alike.

I'd imagine that the differences will be so slight that most won't notice. Matchmaking will probably be the same on both. PS+ does have better deals tho

Xbox One will have dedicated servers through cloud servers. Microsoft has confirmed that ALL video games will have dedicated servers through Azure.

To give you a perspective, Azure is one of the three largest cloud data centers in the world.

I can't really tell the difference between PSN and Live when playing games.

PSN on the PS3 is however not as good at non game related things.

They sorted it out on the Vita though so I'm hopeful they will do the same on the PS4.

Yeah, im not sure why this is being asked. Xbox dominated the PS2 in online gaming. The 360 demolished the PSN and multiplayer.

MS is literally a decade ahead.

Cows have HOPE. that PSN will be better online.

Just like they had hope the console was good and KZ was good. They love hope, but it gets you nowhere.

Online service is the Xbox brand's biggest strength. Xbox has always and is continuing to lead the way with online gaming while Sony is always just playing catch-up in this area.

While Sony is still trying to get their online service on PS4 to be as good as the online service on Xbox 360 by finally implementing things that Xbox has had for years like cross game chat; Microsoft is making Xbox Live on the Xbox One even better by adding things like dedicated servers for all games and the SmartMatch feature which will eliminate the boredom of having to wait in lobbies for a game to start.

PlayStation seems like it will always be a generation behind Xbox when it comes to online gaming.

Going by their track record I'd put my money on XBL.
However, big kudos to WiiU for having the only free online on consoles left.

I've always preferred Xbox Live to PlayStation Network. But PSN will improve this generation.

I prefer the look and ease of Xbox Live.

Uhh. XBL has free games and PSN has been broken since launch.

PSN by far the online should improve by alot and plus it helps your PS Plus Subsciption carries over.

@FoxbatAlpha: Maybe, but PS+ doesn't just provide games that are five years old; it provides not only the classics, but the very recent and best.

PS+ also provides discounts, beta access, and demo trials.

X1 and dedicated servers will beat psn everytime. If you think otherwise you're a fool.
