Which direct game sequels felt the most satisfying to you?

Which game direct sequel you think was great compared to it's predecessor?

There are many but to me from the top of my head:

MGS2

GOW 2 was great, as good or better than the first. Metroid Fusion, sequel to Super metroid. Can't think of others right now.

• Metroid Prime 2 - Light Suit, ultimate in Samus in-suit sexiness, made it better than first... well not "better" just... better... >_> Considered by some to not be as "Metroid" as the original Prime but felt like a proper step in the right direction for the series. Gave it an entirely new atmosphere and method of story telling. Kept the 20 year-old franchise from stagnating. Felt exactly like what the sequel to Prime should have been.
• Metal Gear Solid 3 - Took the story telling and character development to a whole new level, a complete masterpiece.
• Driver 2 - Added a whole new depth to the gameplay by giving you a new way to get around (walking) and also was a great continuation of the story. An amazing sequel to an amazing game.
• Syphon Filter 2 - Took the gameplay from the original nearly exactly but refined the level design and took the story into a whole new and equally great realm.
• Twisted Metal 2 - There really isn't much to say about the game. It did everything better than the first and made for a superb gaming experience. Awesome series.

Err I don't think MGS3 should count. (No spoilers lol)tegovoltio

GoW II was very satisfying and I enoyed it better than the first one.

Baldur's Gate 2
Most other sequels on the platforms I've owned have tended to not blow me away.

budokai 3 is the only good game in the series. but I guess if a game was 5 times as good as its predicessors it would be pretty satisfying.

Pikmin 2 and MGS2

I hated the first MGS but 2 was great (no offense).

Good point - I always forget about Maniac Mansion.

Fallout 2, Larger, bigger, longer and more insane.

Baldur's Gate 2, Bigger, longer, uncut.

Half Life 2, Better atmos.

Super Mario World 2, Just better in almostevery way possible. Plus way more insane.

Max Payne 2, yeah.

Excellent choice.

This game was exponentially better than the first game in the series and it is my favorite game of all-time.

UYA then improved on the gameplay from Going Commando, but the only reason I prefer GC over UYA is that UYA is just too short.

RE2 was a good sequel.JiveT
