Which do you think is the overall best gaming platform this generation?

Oh man I can see the debates now. Exclusives, size, accessibility, paid online, DRM, costs, "console experience."

This will be fun....

So....2 systems that have only been out for a year....vs one with an extra year under it's belt that isn't really "next gen" and PC which is a thing all it's own and never has a "new generation" as we know it.

I think this would be a fair question in another year at the very least....this generation just started.

The PC exists in this console generation just like it has in the ones before it, so it makes every bit of sense. Consolites should just accept that instead of using the 'no gens' excuse to keep the PC out of a system wars poll just so that their favorite console stands a chance at winning something over another one. This is system wars not console wars.

However, due to a crippling FIFA addiction I still want a PS4. If the WiiU was as good a console for new FIFA games as the PS4/XBONE then I would be buying one right now. As it is I don;t mind waiting til after christmas with fingers crossed for the consoles to start dropping in price

I'm surprised there isn't a more distinct gap between Xbox One and PS4, not surprised that PC is winning out of the park though.

At least there are actually good strategy games on PC....along with games from every single other genre.

Your argument is essentially "Consoles don't have strategy games or MMOs, therefore they are better."

Fail.

PC is the most versatile with the most games and backwards compatibility. It's all around best platform because you can game how ever you want on it. Like a desktop experience? You can do that. Like 1080p? That's standard. Want a sweet living room set up? PC got you covered there too. Want to play older games without fees and services? Covered. Like community mods? Covered. Like new refreshing indy games? Got it. The fully customizable PC experience tops the consoles. It is what it is. Consoles are great but if I could only play on one platform pc would be my choice easily.

The answer never changes, it is always objectively the PC.

Personally, I'd say the order is as follows:

1. PC
2. 3DS
3. Wii U
4. PS Vita
5. PS4
6. Xbox One

PC and X1 because they have games

The consoles all lose. Vita is irrelevant. Only two remain.

Well as the new consoles haven't hit their stride at all this isn't a hard question. PC has had a monster year so far for me (RPG's galore!) and with a new Civ on the horizon having bugger to play on the PS4 hasn't bothered me one bit.

Depends on the person. If they like playing sports games online then console since that's where they're more popular. If they like playing shooters online with a controller then console again.

It is the all in one system. Snap features, record and edit clips, Scan codes with Kinect, Skype a friend in Liberia, the exclusives and I genuinely feel that Microsoft is a better company than Sony. Phil Spencer has his ear to the Xbox gamer and he is listening. He seems like he wont rest until he perfects our gaming world.

I'd be interested to see what the general population's perspective of what the best console is at the moment.
