which game do you think is selling more copies MGS4 (PS3) GEARS 2 (X360)

i think gears is going to outsell mgs4

2/3 of the past games outsold Gears but the last one didn't.

Metal Gear Solid managed it on a slightly larger userbase to the X360.
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty managed it on a userbase slightly larger than the Playstation 3 right now.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater failed to manage it on a userbase of 80 million.

But then again, the PS3 has no games worth playing short of this one, and it is easily getting as much hype, if not more, than Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty.

I shall make my decision, and come back with an answer.

You have to consider Metal Gear Solid 2 which sold 7 million on a console installbase smaller than the X360's (Around 15 million)

You have to consider Metal Gear Solid 2 which sold 7 million on a console installbase smaller than the X360's (Around 15 million)

it was largly because it had long legs....due to PS2 selling like how the Wii is now.

PS3 doesnt have that luxury this time around. Itll sell amazing the first month, but since PS3 isnt selling 500k per month in NA alone, its legs can only be so long....

Gears of War easily. By the time it releases everyone will be tired of the other 3 big shooters. And with big budget marketing, and previous success it will do quite well.

MGS does have a lack of ps3 games going for it. It's just a much more hardcore market focused title. It's not a game any of the Bluray buyers will probably play.

What you should probably ask yourself, which would be played more, Gears 2 or MGS? That's the true measure of a great game.

MGS4 because there there isn't any other games worth buying on the PS3 so everyone who owns one will have no choice but to get that game. Haze= bargain bin here we come.

Gears appeals to the masses more on part of MS's marketing...Look at how hard they pushed G1..i saw ad's outside of the gaming industry, prime time TV commercials and launch events across NA...I would expect the same with G2

We are a few weeks away from MGS4 and outside of the gaming community...I have not seen a thing...

MSG4 will sell largely because of it's huge following...We know it will be a great game...but does average joe?....

How can people seriously think Gears has a larger following?

Gears1 sold 4.5 million

MGS1 sold what, 6 million. MGS2 sold 7+ million, MGS3 4 million. Way more people have played and owned MGS than have played Gears :?
