Hmmm, MGS introduced us to stealth. However Splinter Cell defines it more in terms of realism.
I would say Splinter Cell.
What's with all the thief nods? Did it just pop into peoples minds after the fourth was announced? Barely ever hear about that game in Sw...Anyways I'd say Splinter cell as a stealth game but MGS kills SC as an overall game.Im_singleThief is a classic, just like Deus Ex, and its stealth destroys every other stealth game created.
[QUOTE="-snorlax-"]:| You only hide behind some plants gets my heart pumping every time. it wasnt just hiding behind plants either. In all seriousness, i believe zelda oot had some pretty solid steathl mechanics especially when you have to see princess zelda

Yeah, I know it's classic, but it is never mentioned in SW ever, just wondering if the Thief 4 announcement just made people remember it still exists.
Everyone knows BLACK had the best stealth mechanics out of any game.In all seriousness, i believe zelda oot had some pretty solid steathl mechanics especially when you have to see princess zelda

If you really think Zelda is a good stealth game, then chances are you've never even played a Metal Gear Solid or Splinter Cell game in your life.

I played all three of them. The game mechanics and immersiveness can't be matched by SC or MGS.
Instant winner with this post.Thief. But out of those two, Splinter Cell is the most realistic. MGS is too arcadey.

Actually MGS is not even remotly a stealth game, just a shooter with some crawling
So, why compare them in the first place, they are 100% different games, and SC is real stealth

The reallt crappy thing is the DX installer on the disk. It updates DX, whether it needs it or not, and then my other games won't work :|Splinter Cell, by far. A pity DA sucked, though.

Castle Wolfenstein and Saboteur (and probably others) had stealth gameplay before the original Metal Gear was released. MGS wasn't even the first 3D stealth game, since Tenchu came out before it, and Thief: TDP released later in the same year.

Lol.:P But Majora's Mask had more and better stealth moments. Anyway I haven't play any SC games, but the stealth gameplay look more realistic than MGS.
