MGS4 or GTA IV?

none of them deserve a 10, GTAIV should have been 5-6 and MGS4 is a 9.0 at most. but if i have no choice but to give a 10 to one of those games then it would be MGS4.
how about neither? MGS4 was infinitely better than GTAIV, but neither deserved a ten, especially GTA
No game should ever get a 10 because no game can ever be perfect.SF_KiLLaMaN10 doesnt have to be perfect. Having said that I wouldnt give either MGS or GTA a 10.
You clearly have no clue how reviews work. And lol at all the lems voting for GTA just so MGS4 doesn't win. MGS4 is by far the most deserving 10.none of them deserve a 10, GTAIV should have been 5-6 and MGS4 is a 9.0 at most. but if i have no choice but to give a 10 to one of those games then it would be MGS4.

GTAIV.. I played and beat both games.. MGS4 had entirely too many cutscenes to the point that it felt I was watching more of a movie then playing a game.. In a bad way, it felt like I was passively watching the game instead of actually playing it.. Furthermore gameplay wise the game was surprisingly short.. I would give it a 8.0 to 8.5.. Definitely a original and great game, to me its whole formula catters specifically to a small group that would apprecaite such things instead of seeing it as a complaint. Though I honeslty don't think GTA is worth a 10 either, but I think its much more deserving then MGS.sSubZerOoWhy do people complain about cutscenes. Ok, so on the first play through you have to put up with them. But after that, they can be skipped, and MGS is good enough to replay at least 3 times.

Because its a legitimate problem.. And just because you can skip through it doesn't some how ignore the fact that its a pretty short game overall.. As i said its a great game, but I do not think its deserving of a 10 espcially when it catters to a very specific group of fans within the series.. Most high rated games are able to catter to its fans, while being open enough and appreciative enough to be played by fans of the overall genre..

Yeah it short and no it doesn't only cater to MGS fans. Never played any other MGS so didnt understand the story (making cutscenes even worse for me) and I still liked it. Game play is just awesome.GTA IV 8.5 and MGS4 9.0 in my book
but if I had to choose it would be MGS4
IMO no game released to date deserves a 10. for a game to score a 10 it has to appeal to every gamer out there and be absolutely perfect in graphics, gameplay, story,....

good answer i am going to agree with itnone of them deserve a 10, GTAIV should have been 5-6 and MGS4 is a 9.0 at most. but if i have no choice but to give a 10 to one of those games then it would be MGS4.

Neither of them. They should both have gotten a 9.5 Gta because the immersion of the game is often broken up by having to attend to friends and such which can be very boring later in the game when you have lots of friends. While MGS4 although the story telling was amazing, the cutscenes were just TOO many it really doesn't matter how amazing they were, there still were just too many for too long, there would have been easy ways to integrate those into gameplay, such as making the phone inside the gameplay or just having some of the conversations during battles and such.
neither deserved a 10 and just increased the hate on review scores with this helping escalate the attitude of if it aint above 9 it is considered a flop
they both were superb games but both had clear flaws
If people would give GTAIV a chance, they would realise it is a good game. I am sick of the people that **** over it just because there were no parachutes and they took out the arcadey driving. If you actually gave the game a chance you would start to enjoy the driving and laugh at other sandbox games.
GTAIV is the one game that blows my mind every time I play it. The amount of effort that went into the game was outstanding, every street is different. every person is different. It is pleasing to the eye and the game still holds up to this day, in all aspects.
There is so much content, so much possibilties that it will never get boring, at least in my eyes.
In my book, GTAIV.
MGS4 is a 9.5 but who cares anyways. It's exceeded my hype so I'm happy eitherway.:)

10 on gamespot is not a "perfect" score per se...
What the Numbers Mean:
Here's how the overall rating ranges break down.
Have any of you ever read GS's ranking system?
I doubt it, judging on what i've seen a lot of you post :|

Spoken like someone who knows what they are talking about. It seems that GTA4 is constantly bashed by gamers for the fact that it is really really popular, now I know it sounds like a bit of a cop out excuse but it's true. Gta4 is an amazing game which I am actually still playing today, and the fact that the DLC is so heavily made up that they are also nearly full games that makes Rockstar deserving of the review scores for their effort towards the DLC which we have never really seen as fleshed out as there is on offer in Gta4.... Well, maybe not a ten because of reasons I stated above but still....Please Log In to post.
