Which game surprised you more? The Last Guardian or FFXV?

Neither, and it'll probably be a while before I play either.

TLG runs like shit on the base PS4 which is shameful for a game that looks like a remastered PS3 title. what's even more pathetic is it only holds a "stable" 30 fps on the Pro. this is pathetic for such a dated-looking game

TLG. I had every expectation that FFXV would be no less than good (and it is), but TLG being remotely in the territory of great is a stunner.

Ueda's track record is two great games with technical issues. I don't think anything about TLG is all that shocking judged purely on the man's resume. The tech issues are, the controls aren't the most fluid thing ever (might be for a gameplay/narrative reason), and he's still on the very short list of big game directors who blends his story telling with his gameplay.

I have faith in that man. I expect the game to be one of my 10 favorite games this year bare minimum.

I'll be legit shocked if I dig FF15 though.

Im not surprised by TLG delivering because its a Sony exclusive and these are the best of the best. FF15 is surprising and even i is interested.

Both are good,better than I had hoped for so far.

Having played neither, I'm surprised by neither. Both are reviewing as expected with TLG scoring just a tad higher than expected.

If I play FFXV I'll be surprised if it's actually good.

Played neither. I guess I'm surprised that both games ended up recieving well despite being in development hell, but I still won't be getting either game until there's a significant price drop or a chunky discount from a sale.

I see myself getting TLG first in any case, because **** Square-Enix.

FF for sure. TLG flopped, and we all thought it would. And since it is not exclusive, it's pretty much DOA.

I thought they'd both be dirty flops, now I'm looking forward on playing both of them :P TLG scoring a 9 surprised me more though.

FFXV. It was expected to be yet another trainwreck, considering Squenix's terrible track record and the untested development team. Yet it turned out good, and revived a dying franchise.

TLG shouldn't be a surprise at all. It has known talent behind it. Team Ico don't have many games, but they have a strong track record. It would be more of a surprise if it wasn't good.

On topic, FF15 really surprised me. I was expecting a train wreck but they pulled through. I always knew TLG would do well, it has a proven and talented dev behind it.

I'm loving TLG right now. Really solid and it feels unique. Only complaint is camera, but I'm getting used to it.

Those saying it looks like a ps3 game haven't played it. It looks fantastic.

Never liked final fantasy

NyaDC predicted The Last Guardian would be a major disappointment and tried to warn us and now and it is towering over Dead Flop 4 scores and probably sales too.

These are only games I bought on release day in the second half of 2016 so I couldn't be more pleased with reception so far. I know the TLG has performance issues the base PS4, but thankfully I have a PS4 Pro which eliminates that.

I actually expected TLG to be a bigger flop critically due to how long it's been in development, but I'm surprised...I really didn't care for Shadow of the Colossus so that's where my low expectations for that game came from.

I expected FF XV to score in the 80s so that one isn't too much of a surprise.

I may pick up FF XV in the future...I'm gonna see if there's a Switch version first but if not, I'll cave in and get a PS4 eventually for it.

I never said anything of the sort, frankly I hardly talked about either of these games.

If I say something dumb then that's on me, but don't completely make things up and post that shit about me. The most I ever really discussed The Last Guardian was in relation to its dated graphics and its clunky controls as were complaints during previews, also now I have a personal complaint which is those dated graphics in relation to the performance output, this game needs serious optimization.

@dynamitecop: So you did not make a topic telling everyone to adjust(lower) their expectations based a Polygon preview(which ended up giving it a good score). I find it very convenient that you chose to make that topic about a PlayStation exclusive and no other titles out of the games that have been covered over the last few months.
