Im not sure if this has happened to anyone else but theres been times where ive played a game and not really liked it. However during playthrough i can really appreciate what the dev tried to do with the game and although i didnt like it, liked the overall feel. Let me just clear up, im talking about the actual game so there cant be games you didnt like but understand why it had amazing sales for instance. Anyway, the immediate 3 that come to mind are:

GTA3 - I was pretty different from most people. Whilst everyone was jumping onto the GTA bandwagon with 3s release, i was getting off. Loved GTA1,2 and london but 3 just didnt click for me. But i really loved what they were trying to achieve, the world, the atmosphere and the tech at the time left me awe-inspiring. Still, i didnt like the game.

Photobucket

Dead Rising - I still think there are few games that are as technically impssive as DR. It literally blew my mind when i first hooked it up in 2006. Its funny too because it featured alot of things that i would have liked at the time (zombies, unlimited arsenal etc.)........but i absoloutely despise the game, really hate it. Again like GTA3, i cant exactly pin point why but i just dont like. But what Capcom did with this game is something i like and although i wont get the sequal, i hope the series keeps on going.

Photobucket

Super Mario Galaxy - I always got excited whenever they released media for SMG and watching gameplay movies/trailers, i couldnt help but feel amazed. I love the **** graphics, music, feel but when i got my hands on it...i was bored out of my mind. I would get 1-2 stars and then call it quits because it made me feel so bored. Strangely enough, i would watch my friend play it for a few hours and enjoy it but whenever the control touched my hand, i disliked it. Overall, i think Nintendo did a great job with it and can appreciate what they were trying to achieve

Photobucket

How about you guys? Remember it has to be a game you dont like.

Scribblenauts. The idea is amazing. I think it should go on as a sereis, but it need improvements.

Resident Evil. Like you, I don't know why I don't like it. I just don't.

Uncharted 2- jUST a tps with pretty graphics at the end of the day. But im more of an rpg fan so yeah

Demons souls- A game shouldnt take 50 tries just to get past the FRICKING TUTORIAL

Killzone 2- I like modern warfare 2 better

Super mario galaxy 1- IT speaks for itself

SMG 2-More of the same and ill admit it it is kinda fun but the fact that its nintendo and mario and not a grand theft auto game or something like that irks me so much.

Red dead re3demption- I appreciate this game technical wise but it falls short gameplay and story wise. Its grand theft horse basically.

mass effect 1 and 2- Boring to the max

kingdom hearts- What? Made by disney? Its a kiddy version of final fantasy!

final fantasy 7- Why do clouds feet look like BRICKS

ocarina of time- Wind waker is better

bayonetta- It speaks for itself, Great ga

assassins creed 1- Repetitive

assassins creed 2- less repetitive more of the same

batman arkham asylum- Dry combat

left 4 dead 2- Repetitive

little big planet- hard to design levels

infamous- prototype wannabe

THE ENTIRE MGS SERIES. YUCK horrid storyline. If i wanted patriotic pulp fiction, i would have seen die hard.

Dragon age- Final fantasy with dragons basically

Crysis- pretty but dull

Halo series (master chief is one of the WORST protagonists ever. The whole space steroid super soldier thing is so played out its not even funny)

Gears of war series

Heavy Rain. I appreciate that there are some things about the game that are absolutely amazing and I respect how unique it is relative to most games. That said, I think the game has too many funky things about it for me to really like it. The massive amounts of uncanny valley and the mediocre writing and bad voice acting and clunk controls push me away.

Dead Rising was a great example.. This game would have been a AAA or even close to a AAAA this gen if it were not for a few very things Capcom could have changed or fixed that they didn't even do in a patch.. A) The piss poor AI of the survivors.. It turns a already challenging and enjoyable experience into one that ends in cussing due to how stupid they are. B) The amount of "rush" it puts you on in the game, where playing the game you really don't have a much of chance to explore because the games plot line and side rescues are being shoved down your throat.. C) Ties in with B, the walkie talkie going off every 5 seconds about more you have to do.. It made a already great game into a obnoxious wack a mole trying to save every one.

B) and C) really ruined the experience of being able to explore a mall and go at your own liesure pace something that similar wide openg ames are able to do.

Far Cry 2. The idea of making a vivid, sandbox world for an FPS game was good, but some horrible design choices and unfair AI just ruined the experience to an extent where I'm not sure if I want to play it anymore.

Final Fantasy IV

I've played the original SNES ver and the DS ver. I don't know why, but I just do not enjoy the game. I understand that it was great for it's time, but ...

Resident Evil 4

I enjoyed playing it once, but I can't bring myself to playing it again. I buy games to play them more than once, so for me this is just disappointing. Especially when it just makes me miss the classic gameplay.

Tactics Ogre

The story is pretty good and the ability to affect the path that you take creates an interesting dynamic, but for some reason I don't like the gameplay in this classic SRPG. Too grind heavy and too easy to get units killed permanently. The combination of these two factors tends to make the game frustrating.

I don't tend to play games I'm not interested, but I'd probably list the entire WRPG genre.

You completely suck at Demon's Souls if it took you 50 tries to "get past the tutorial".

These are all games I own and have played....

Assassin's Creed and Assassin's Creed 2 - first was entirely repetitive....second was somewhat fun, but it felt detached in terms of story telling....with the exception of the ending which was awesome, of course.

Blazblue - The game seems complicated, at first, but the more I played it, the more I realized that it simply revolved almost entirely on two types of characters...rushdown and zoners...it grew old really fast for me.

God of War 3 - game was fun for the most part...but the so called "epic" battles weren't so "epic" and the plot was delivered horribly imo. Otherwise...its a good game...but with a lot of wasted potential.

Burnout Paradise - extremely annoying with all the slow motion nonsense every time you come into contact with something....also, for an open world game it didn't have map markers which was extremely unforgivable imo.

GTA4 - plain boring

MK Vs. DC - When I first heard of it, I thought "awesome" Mk is going the Marvel vs. Capcom route....but when I played it....dear god...

Prince of Persia (2008) - annoying and stripped down to simple platforming. I enjoyed the combat and the interesting puzzles in the sands of time series..

Tomb Raider Underworld - it was alright....just didn't capture the traditional tomb raider feel...but I guess that's tomb raider III and above for yah

Uncharted 2 -way too similar to the first game in terms of plot and progression...major turn off to me

Blazblue just needs to mature some, it needs more characters, and gameplay mechanics like GG.

Exactly... I only bought it because its from the same minds...and a lot of people said it was just as good, if not better, than Guilty Gear.... but...not really. I'll probably get back to it when there's a bit more diversity in the game.

I'm going to get CS just to play with my friend/a few members of GS, but recently my hype has lowered because of the recent "balancing" of characters (Lambda), making two characters DLC only.

I mean, replacing Nu with a downgraded skin and forcing her to be DLC only is pretty low "IMO".

Im like this too with RE4 but i did like it. Ive had it for 5 years now and i really just dont want to replay it. I feel like i should, but i dont want to.

New game to the list, Oblivion

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I bought it around 2007. All i remember is getting out of the sewers (i got a 50G achievement), then getting chased by a woman. I took it back the next day, never have i been so completely disintrested in a solid game like that. But i can see why it was pretty groundbreaking at the time of release.

Final Fantasy - combat system mostly. I'd rather it be fully turn based like Lost Odyssey or Persona 3/4

Assassin's Creed - boring and there's no challange to be found.

Deus Ex - Hasn't aged well. I'm sure if I played it back in 2000, I'd like it.

Far Cry - I've played plenty of hard games, but this game is just unfair. I loved Far Cry Instincts on the Xbox though.

Same here I was glad that they decided to make Chris the lead character and keep pretty much the same formula for Resident Evil 4, but some added features made it a not so pleasant experience for me.

Please stop using the word bandwagon like its cool. Just because a game is popular doesn't mean you have to say everyone that likes it is on the bandwagon. GTA3 was great IMO, I r sad you not like it

Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising. At first I lovedr the game because of the military realistic feel(prefer it over CoD's fast pacing FPS) but then it gets jaggy and slow and the AI is crap. Also the visuals needed to be improved like giving youerself treatment should be a minigame and etc.

Uncharted 2- jUST a tps with pretty graphics at the end of the day. But im more of an rpg fan so yeah

Demons souls- A game shouldnt take 50 tries just to get past the FRICKING TUTORIAL

Killzone 2- I like modern warfare 2 better

Super mario galaxy 1- IT speaks for itself

SMG 2-More of the same and ill admit it it is kinda fun but the fact that its nintendo and mario and not a grand theft auto game or something like that irks me so much.

Red dead re3demption- I appreciate this game technical wise but it falls short gameplay and story wise. Its grand theft horse basically.

mass effect 1 and 2- Boring to the max

kingdom hearts- What? Made by disney? Its a kiddy version of final fantasy!

final fantasy 7- Why do clouds feet look like BRICKS

ocarina of time- Wind waker is better

bayonetta- It speaks for itself, Great ga

assassins creed 1- Repetitive

assassins creed 2- less repetitive more of the same

batman arkham asylum- Dry combat

left 4 dead 2- Repetitive

little big planet- hard to design levels

infamous- prototype wannabe

THE ENTIRE MGS SERIES. YUCK horrid storyline. If i wanted patriotic pulp fiction, i would have seen die hard.

Dragon age- Final fantasy with dragons basically

Crysis- pretty but dull

Halo series (master chief is one of the WORST protagonists ever. The whole space steroid super soldier thing is so played out its not even funny)

Gears of war series

BioDogshock

ur not a gamer

I respect the visuals of Final Fantasy XIII, but I just don't like JRPG turn based combat. But wow... great cutscene graphics.

I think the idea behind the Assassin's Creed games is cool, but after a few hours I'm bored.

I agree I finished it but I didn't like it. I still haven't played Assassin's Creed II.

Assasins Creed 1, MadWorld (they were onto something, but then turned it into a bunch of mini-games), and The Conduit.
