Destiny. God what a dull, repetitive game it felt. I'm sure it's had a lot of updates now that makes it better, but I had long since jumped ship.
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate on the 3DS. It was my first time trying a Monster Hunter game, and most likely my last. I do NOT understand how this franchise is worshiped by many. Possibly nostalgia, who knows. I couldn't get into it at all.
Watch Dogs. I was sold on the concept of a game about hacking and how it can have the potential of bringing truly unique possibilities to the table - it tried to hide the fact it was just a generic open world game with incredibly limited hacking scenarios that become dull and repetitive after doing them only a few times.
Technomancer
Burning Blood
Dirt Rally(great game but with Dirt 4 coming and Forza Horizon taking most of my time, I barely had time to play it)
ESO (I just don't have the time for it, mmorpg)
Kinda regretting buying FFXV for PS4 pro, instead of waiting to see if there is any further info on a PC version.
Not so much for better graphics/fps (though that would be nice) but for mods that hopefully fix the crappy button mapping, fast travel system, user interface.
Probably Mario Kart 8. While everything about that game is greatly improved over its predecessors, the biggest issue still remains and, in some ways, made worse.
The blue shell is just bad game design. I've never once heard a good argument for it. This item punishes successful play and doesn't reward the person who uses it. It benefits a third party for no reason. This is made worse by how common it is to receive coins when in the lead. This leaves you open to red shells in addition to the dreaded blue shell . Playing the mechanics of the game successfully put you at the mercy of RNG far too much. Punishing players for successfully engaging with the game is so backwards. Remove the blue shell and the coin items and this game is superb. However, having them in their really breaks the game.
At least make it so the blue shell can only show up in the second lap so that it helps give others a chance while still allowing the best player to actually re-establish his lead before the race is over.
Since my Diablo 3 purchase which made me cry out loud , im very very cautious where i spend my money on so i havent regret any purchase since then yet. Resident evil 5 is close second !
Now obviously im not talking about super cheap games i buy occassionaly on STEAM but full priced games.
Hmm.. Maybe Battlefield 1. Had some fun for a few weeks, but will probably never touch again. I will be extremely cautious with the series going forward. At least I didn't waste money on BF4.
How come they can't grasp themselves what made BF2 and 2142 awesome? Their newer BFs are so shallow and dumbed down feeling.
Edit: Can't believe I forgot Diablo 3. Has to be my number 1 pick. At least shooting people in the face in BF1 was fun for while. D3 is just plain meh. Also bought the expansion in hope that they would improve the game - a big mistake that I wont do again. D3 feels like a game Blizzard didn't even want to do themselves and just did to shut people up.
I found Mad Max very repetitive too and only played about 3 hours but I might get back to it.
MGS V was a massive misstep in my opinion but the opening 4 or 5 hours are still great so I guess....I'm ok with it.
Tbh, I only buy games I know I will like so I haven't got any major regrets.
Battlefront 1 = All flash and no substance. BF3 and BF4 are much better games in terms of depth.
COD: Ghosts = Bought to play with friends, ended up having a shit MP.
Destiny = Complete overhyped turd. Probably my most regrettable purchase. Was done with it in less than a week.
I sorta regret buying SW: Battlefront. It has excellent graphics and sound just like Battlefield 1 but the gameplay is so shallow. It's only saved by the amazing VR experience that I was able to get from it.
MLB The Show 16- 1st one I bought since 10 and the game is still literally the same. I regret paying $40.
UC4-I bought this game for $20 last month at GameStop (used) and I must say so far I'm bored to death. I completed 12 chapters and all I'm doing is walking, talking, climbing, roping, driving and weird puzzles (3 layers?)
As a huge fan of UC2/3 online, 4 is still solid (i knew that from the 2015 Beta) but I'm not paying $60 just to play online.
So far UC3 SP is better than 4. UC3 1st 11 chapters were slow pace and boring but UC4's 1st 12 is worse.
SHADOW OF MORDOR
FARCRY PRIMAL
WATCH DOGS 2
ASSASSINS CREED SYNDICATE
GOD EATER RESSURECTION (PC PORT)
JUST CAUSE 3
MAD MAX
ETC.
Too boring, repititive for my taste.Couldnt finish them also lol, uninstalled quickly.
Well?
Only 3 games
AC Syndicate
Watch Dogs 2
No man´s play Sky.
----
AC because despite it being in London, Ubisoft clearly had a wrong liberal feminist cookie down their throat and forced you to certain path , like all males are grunts and all females are stealth butterflies.
Watch Dogs 2, i should have learned from the first
No mans sky. No explanation needed..
I regret buying Breath of the Wild and Persona 5, because it almost feels like I will never enjoy any other game again.
Stealth Bragging about those 2 Games.
Yea that's not what TC meant.
TC meant games you didn't enjoy you thought you would.
Hard choice, as I do my homework on a game before I buy it.
Would have to say Overwatch. Its not a bad game, not even close. Just the online multiplayer-focused pvp games never hold my attention for more than a week because the game turns into a repetitive grind for me. I do hate the random reward system in that game though.
Battlefield 1. See above.
Other than that cant think of any more games. I do regret getting a PS4 though as its ended up being by far my least used system.
None, I'm an informed gamer who knows which games I'll dislike, even when I'm trying a new type of game I'm fairly good at weeding out what I want to play.
PS4:
Dragon Quest Heroes - Hate the voice-acting, sounded like this game was only targeted for kids only. Plus the resell value is bull
3DS:
Fire Emblem Fates - Not as fun as Awakening.
I know I'm in a minority on this one, but Overwatch. But I'm just not someone who's that drawn in by shooters. Also found how competitive it can be to be a turnoff and totally mismatch with how fun, lighthearted and arcadey it comes off as.
@Pedro: I thought about saying Uncharted 4, but technically it just came with the system, so I can't regret much.
Did nobody else buy No Man's Sky or did they already forget about that turd?
Right? LOL
Watchdogs and The Last Guardian. Boring games.
Watchdogs is that boring actually forgot it existed until reading this.
None. There are hardly any games that I regret buying from any generation. (Only a few like Darksiders 2 and Skyrim)
Mad Max I guess - it had potential but it didn't focus on it's strength (car combat) enough and suffered from Ubisoft's openworld formula probably more so then Ubisoft games.
Gears 4 - I've enjoyed it alot, but also wasted alot of time in horde with shitty teams and now it feels almost pointless with my classes being close to maxed.
CoD Infinite Warfare and the CoD4 remaster - I don't think I'm ever going to play a CoD campaign again. I can't stand how much you get shot and how much the screen shakes from the impact - makes it completely unplayable for me, don't know how I ever stomached it.
The Witcher 3. It feels like a chore to play and the combat is so terrible.
was like you read my mind. A chore to play is the perfect sum up of the game. It took me over a year to actually finish the game, its combat is just so boring the only thing that made me finish it was i wanted to see the story through but even that had its ups and downs.
I'd buy a sequel with no question if they'd improve the combat a bit more, its just so little improved over the second game it was a disappointment.
