Which Gaming Platform = Which Web Browser?

Since we tend to have a "Which platform is which car?" thread every now and then, I thought it would be interesting to see people say and justify which web browser they believe is most like which gaming platform. I am combining the web browser wars with the videogame system wars. So...

Firefox = PC

• Both have the potential to be the greatest in their respective fields if the user knows what he's doing.
• Both require the user to add his own choice of parts/extensions before they can excel.
• Both are customisable.

Opera = Wii

• Both brought innovations to their markets.
• Both are reliable.

Internet Explorer = Xbox 360

• Both get the most support.
• Both are not as reliable as the other options in their markets.

Safari = PS3

- Both aren't used by much, but are generally sleeker and faster than the others

- They are both extremely reliable

I am talking about the OS X version of Safari. The Windows is not nearly as good. I use Chrome and Firefox on Windows.

Altho they do need to update the flash software on it.

Quite an ironic thread seeing as the 360 is the only new-gen console that doesn't have it's own web browser if I recall correctly.LightReflection

psp browser owns all :lol:

But the ps3 browsers ok especially for Remote Play and video sites like youtube, hulu and on your TV (but other then that I dont use it for anything else)

hes not saying what platform has the best web browser hes saying how the platform is similer to the web browser (e.g 360=internet explorer because its unreliable but gets lots of suport)

Same, if they would update Flash I would use it alot more.

I couldn't see any similarities between Chrome and any of the gaming platforms. Try finding your own.

Then again, the fact that Chrome and Opera are so close in terms of market share could be applied to the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 being close regarding games...and maybe even market share.

PC = google chrome. Inferior to the other things (firefox and ie) but people think it's better just because the 1337 google status

xbox 360 = internet explorer (past it's last update)

ps3 = safari. not really bad, but there's better out there

PlayStation 3=Internet Explorer: Solid and Proven, from a respectable brand name. No real obvious faults, but many will find that the benefits of the others will make them more worthwhile.

XBox 360=Safari: Seen as hip and cool, has its advantages.

PC=Firefox: Power comes from customization. An experienced user makes it into something amazing, though a more casual consumer might not find those benefits applicable.

Yeah, I am by no means the master of these obscure comparisons. I don't really know much about Opera as a browsor, so I can't really say much about that. 360 I just couldn't think of anything, so I was just sort of grasping for straws there to complete the list.

Naw though, the PC > Consoles is alot more than FF > IE.

Opera is innovative for the fact that it introduced features such as tabs and speed dial to the web browsing world. I, personally, couldn't do without tabs and speed dial is a very handy feature as well. That's why I also linked it to the Wii. Both innovated in their respective industry and are reliable and sturdy products.

I would use Opera more often, but it just seems so slow compared to Firefox :(

Another similarity between Opera and the Wii. angelkimne would use Opera more often if it weren't so slow; angelkime would use his Wii more often if it weren't so slow coming out with great games...that interest him.

Seriously, though, Opera is amongst the fastest web browsers. I never understand when people complain about Opera being slow.

PS3 = Internet Explorer

Bogged down by features, despite being powerful.

PC = Firefox

Effective, Customizable, and the most elite.

Wii = Chrome

Still a few shortcomings, but streamlined, and with massive potential.

360 = I don't know any more browsers, I rarely use others.
