Do you think the PS3 version will sell better than the 360 version or vice versa.

IMO I think th e360 version because:

A. When people go to buy a syestem to play this game, theyre going to look at the 400 dollar one over the 600 dollar one (Although SONY might have a price cut by then, but nothing that wil bring it to the same price as the 360.)

B. Exclusive Downloadable Content: Hey MS didnt spend aroung 40 million for exclsuive content for this game for nothing.

c. Isnt the 360 the lead platform for this game? I thought that all the trailers and demos so far were running off a 360. ]

What do you gusy think?

The 360. It will no doubt have a larger userbase at the time of the game's release, and it is my belief that the 360 will outsell the PS3 by a significant amount overall in the USA and PAL regions.

Who cares about which one sells better, really. The Xbox 360 gets exclusive "episodic" downloadable content. Regardless whether it's free or not, we're still getting it.

It was 50 million for the DLC.

And I think the 360 version will sell better, simply because I don't think the PS3 will get enough units in people's homes by the time the GTA frenzy starts to subside. When GTA4:Vice City hits, well, we might see a different story.

both wrong, they paid 50 mil but unless the content sells 50 million microsoft gets whatever revenue they lost back, so in the end it will be free no matter what

Lemmings, stop acting like the DLC will launch 360 version sales millions above the PS3 version. Unless the game's marketing campaign revolves completely around the 360 getting practically a completely different game via DLC, the casuals won't even be aware of it.

Yeah, I know. I was just correcting the figure.

BTW, the content needs to sell 70 million for T2 to keep those 50 :P

There are more 360 owners than PS3 so 360 will sell more. And because MS got some exclusive content for their console.

I'd say the 360 version, it's got a lead in the userbase (and sales in NA), it's cheaper and it has the DLC that may appeal to some.

I'd say the PS3 version. For 2 reasons. 1- Most of the people that played GTA played it on ps2, so theres a high chance that GTA buyers will like the PS3 line up more since the ps3s lineup is similar in style to ps2 and 360s lineup is similar in style to xbox 1, so you have to remember that no one buys a system for one game, especially a multiplat.. 2- Halo 3 sales will more than likely cannibalize other game sales on 360.

1) Have you forgot the other 10 million people who already own an Xbox360? "so you have to remember that no one buys a system for one game, especially a multiplat" Way to contradict yourself lol...

2) So people can only buy 1 game? I was unaware people could have only $50 and have one choice!

Once again.

GTA4 + Halo 3 + Madden 08 = Massive 360 sales this Holiday season.

The 360 version of GTA4 will sell the best. I really fail to see how this is arguable.

360 version at least right at launch just because of installed base. PS3 one could easily overtake it quickly though.

360 because Halo3 will sell a good amoount of 360s before gta4 even drops. Ps3 could catch up later though.

When it comes out, the PC version. Both console versions are going to be so similar there will be no real point in saying which one is inherently better than the other.

This year the 360 version will outsell it most likely, but over time I think the PS3 version will sell better. People associate GTA with the PS3 brand. Once the PS3 price drops and this game and some other big hits come out PS3 will fly off the shelves and this version will outsell the 360 one.

You beat me to it. My favorite versions of GTA III and Vice City so far are by far the PC versions. Better controls, graphics, etc. I guess the PC versions also have mods but I never got in to mods for GTA games...

I own a PS3, but I think the 360 version will sell better simply because of the larger install base.

However, I do think Rockstar is way too overconfident that they'll get enough people who buy the game to pay(probably too high a price) for the extra content. M$ wanted to charge people $20 for those gears maps. If that's how much they want for maps, how much will they want for serious extra content?

Also I think it pisses people off when they spend $60 on a game, then have to buy stuff that should have been on the disc.

If this doesn't sell well, Rockstar is gonna owe M$ alot of $$$!

I never said all of them would buy it. Wait... your using the wait excuse? I highly doubt a price drop will happen before release. Just logic and statistics show that the Xbox360 has a bigger userbase by over6 million. Do you think the PS3 is going to sell 6 million consoles? In 8 months it sold 3-4 million. Plus did you ever think the people that waited will want to spend $200 extra for the same experience that the 360 gets?
