Which Halo's Have You Played?

I'm curious, I've seen a lot of people saying they've played very little of CE and think that H2's multiplayer is thebest. H3's multiplayer pretty much mimics 2 so they obviously love it, but I still think CE was by far the most balanced and fun multiplayer out of the three. I'm sure theres gonna be plenty of people going "9.5", but lets not forget Halo CE "9.7" which means it was and is better, at least imo.

I think that not many people actually set up the four way lan and played CE that way. I had played CE for about a year and was pretty much done with it, then one of my buddies bought some black and green hub thing at Best Buy and the magic began. Me and about 15 other guys would get together every Sunday and play all day. We did that for almost 3 years straight. And I have to say, the multiplayer experience was 10 times better than Halo 2 or 3. If any of you have yet to try this out, dust off your old massive black box, (well, find 4) get some buddies and tv's and have a blast.

And I know its more convenient to play online instead, but if you're anything like me, and actually have real life friends, then you don't spend every waking hour in your house like a hermit. If they would release CE with the maps from the pc version and online, I would definitely buy it.

I own all 3 of them so therefore I've played all of them. I haven't finished Halo: CE though- maybe someday I'll get around to itwhen there'sa drought of games.dracula_16

Well, lemme ruin it for you... an Elite (Snaipe) and MC fight DOA/Tekken ish at the end... but Cortana tells you that both of you have to work together to kill the flood, so you blow up Halo, and when you two are on the ship, escaping, Snaipe turns his back and in the cutscene the camera looks away, and you hear a shot, and see his shadow fall to the ground...

Same here. Halo:CE lan was godly. Great balance with the pistol as the best all around weapon and everything else as a specialized secondary. Played it regularly for over 3 years with friends. Playing 4(my team) vs 8+ Sidewinder CTF was like the most fun of my life. Damn would we own them lol.

Halo2 was such a huge dissapointment. Ruined prettymuch every subtle unique aspect I loved about the first game. Halo3 is a little better but eh whatever.

And I agree that Halo CE's multiplayer was the most balanced, but Halo 2 had way more options so I just enjoyed that more.

And of course Halo 3 similiar to 2 except with much much more stuff, and better in pretty much every way so I like that the most now (although I liked 2 more for it's time).

But I'm dissapointed there isn't Blood Gulch /Coagulation (Valhalla is a really good level, one of my favs, but its too different, I wish there were both), and also some of the Haloey goodness seems gone: there arent enough ghosts, warthogs, plasma guns, pistols, etc in most levels.

I agree with the TC I thought the CE multiplayer was the best...I am not bad at Halo 3 just alot about it annoys me

Don't forget that according to todays rating system, a 9.7 gets rounded down to a 9.5 so it's not necessarily better. But I do agree, the multiplayer was a blast. My friends and I were able to play it online via xbox tunnel by tricking the xbox to think it was connected to a lan while it was actually connected to a modem.

However, H2s multi was definitely better due to the larger maps, more weps, and just felt more fast paced. My favorite map is still sidewinder though.

All of them. I'm a big fan of the series. To me, no other FPS series feels quite like Halo, I guess that's why I like it.

Don't believe any of the bashing, Halo 3 is awesome and has some truely jaw dropping moments. There are (as always) little niggles and things I didn't like so much, but as I've said, there is also so much awesomeness.

I played CE a looooooooong time ago and did like one local tournament for it. Played Halo 2 for....I dunno a couple minutes. It was this one part where....hmm...I could probably draw it but its hard to describe. Its a city, but not the city level where you're on the streets. Its near the beginning. Wasn't feelin' it so I stopped playing. Beat Halo 3 and almost have all my achievements though. Liked the multiplayer at first, but its slowly devolved into something less desirable.Vandalvideo

I've only played Halo 1...but I only played it for about 20 seconds because I found it too boring...in the end,I just took the disc out and sat a glass of beer on top of it.XenoNinja

The first 20 seconds is boring. In fact the first level isn't too great but it really picks up from there on.

As far as campaign goes, I prefer the first... but H3 is a close second (4p co-op is too sweet... I just wish the flood were as fun to fight as in the first game).

Best part from 2 was some of the music... I loved the extra voices in the title screen music. Sorely missing from H3.

For the overall package, H3 is probably the best though.
