Which handheld game and series is the best ever?

For me, the answer is predictable and obvious- the best handheld game of all time is Pokemon Black/White (finally a game that topples Gold/Silver from its perch!!!) and the best handheld game series of all time is Pokemon (well, duh).

Some other good handheld game I feel are GTA: Chinatown Wars (DS), God of War: Chains of Olympus (PSP) Advance Wars (GBA), Metroid: Zero Mission (GBA), New Super Mario Bros. (DS), Mario Kart (DS), Professor Layton and the Curious Village (DS), Final Fantasy IV Advance (GBA), The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (DS), The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap (GBA), The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (GBC), Game Dev Story (iOS), Dragon Quest IX (DS), Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor (DS), Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story (DS) and Monster Hunter Freedom Unite (PSP).

What are your favorite handheld games and series of all time?

My favourite handheld game is The World Ends With You. The best series is Pokemon. It literally is what being portable is all about.

I stand by my Choice as THE Best. 8)

Dragon Warrior/Quest for me. The series that got me back into handhelds with the 1-3 remakes on GB & GBC, and then the remakes on the DS, got me back into handhelds again. Guess the series keeps me coming back.

The pokemon franchise is definately my favourite handheld franchise though

I think the best is GTA: Liberty City Stories on PSP. A huge technical leap and a fantastic game. I also love Mario on the Gameboy Advance SP and Mario Kart.

Bowser's inside Story. Best series is Mario & Luigi RPG series.

I have to say it's a toss up between Zelda and Advance Wars

Best series is definitely Pokemon. Best game though? I wanna stick with Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow, but 999 just blew me away. What a fantastic game with an amazing story.

Funny, Pokemon is the reason got into and out of handheld gaming. It's a great series but there are plenty of handheld games I've played that I'd deem better. The series peaked at Gold and Silver. I'm not saying the rest of the series is bad but there been less and less motivation to go back. Like Call of Duty.vashkey

Favorite game: SMT: Devil Survivor. I thought it was excellent game with a solid story that kept you immersed with its branching plot. It made you play a part of the story. Gameplay was very good and had a lot of depth/strategy involved.

Favorite series: Mario & Luigi RPG series. Very fun games.

Honorable mention goes to the Ace Attorney series. I normally don't like these types of games, but I really enjoyed the ones I've played. Then again, I love detective stuff - finding evidence, etc. The stories/cases are good, very good in fact.

As for Pokemon, the only ones I've played were Red & Blue, which was a long time ago, but I loved them. Don't know why I haven't played the others yet.

I don't care much for CoD, but if Pokemon is being milked, it is the equivalent of strawberry milk...

..And I like strawberry milk.

Pokemon is the greatest handheld series without a doubt.
