The PS3 just recently got its "official" bluetooth headset although any bluetooth headset will work fine.

After the reading the headset review it seems like a great product. http://gear.ign.com/articles/927/927711p1.html

Just wondering for people who have tried both wireless headsets which one they prefer?

I think both wireless headsets sell for the about the same price of $49.99

Well when I first got my 360 my headset had it had a brown rusty looking stain all over the cushioning. Then it broke once it fell of my desk. Haven't bought the Wireless one (360) due to poor reviews on retail sites and bad feedback from friends. Heard the new PS3 licensed headset is nice though.

IGN's Ratings for SCEA Bluetooth Headset for PS3 RatingDescription out of 10

9.5 - Performance
Incredbile clarity and range.

8.8 - Build Quality
Solid construction for a Bluetooth headset.

9.2 - Audio Quality
Superior to just about any comparably priced Bluetooth solution.

9.4 - Value
For this kind of performance, who could argue with $49.99?

9.3 - Comfort
Rests comfortably in your ear with little strain after extended periods of play.

9.5 - OVERALL
(out of 10 / not an average)

is there a review for the xbox headset like this one ???

PS3.

X360 headset is too big, you plug into the controller, I just dont like the looks of it, seems like you are in a command centre. but its very comfortable though.

bust most important, is that X360 headset can used in all its games, same cant be said for PS3.

I used to have the Wireless 2.4 Gig 360 one, but EVERYONE complained they couldn't hear me, and the sound quality sounded far away. I took it back, as I thought It was defective, but it had that same remote sound.

I now use the 360 Wired Solution's, as they've never given me problems. I also have an EXCELLENT Logitech Headset for the original Xbox that was great. Anyways, I just got that SOCOM Bundle, and Sony's Official Headset is really good, since I have Two PS3's, I tested the Hearing as well(Same test I did with the 360 and Xbox Wireless Headsets.)

Sony's Headset is AMAZING, perhaps due to the PSHeadset incorporating BLUETOOTH Technology used in CELL PHONES, BUT it took them long enough.

I am almost certain M$ next Xbox (X720 )will have Bluetooth capabilities.

Lol, AAA mic. I don't think it's an AAAE since it's probably 'multiplat'

Nope. You are thinking of the PS3's controllers. The 360 came out in 2005, Bluetooth was more expensive.

I knew my PS3 has bluetooth, but I was always under the impression that 360 wireless controllers were bluetooth as well. So I guess they're just the standard non-bluetooth wireless what ever that's called

It's the same tech that cordless Home TelePhones used in 2004, the 2.4GHz wireless tech. It's works well, and cheap phones today use that, so it can be effective, it's up to the manufacturer. Unlike the "Whole HDMI isn't needed" statement from M$ (Then proceeded to include it later), Bluetooth is one thing about the 360 that can't be changed.

That's not true, and you know it.

THINK ABOUT IT, I won't even post the reason, as we both know it's not true the second you typed it.

The other part about ONLY SOCOM users chatting is also a lie. You honestly think in 2006 the PS3 users in RESISTANCE weren't chatting? Almost every game that's ONLINE on PS3 has Chat, so please don't try to mislead people by suggesting otherwise.

This is how you post without being MISLEADING :

However, The 360 users definately do use the 360 headset more due to M$ inclusion of them in certain Xbox 360 purchases (NOT ALL OF THEM) and due to LIVE's Communication interface allowing for cross game chat.

Microsoft one has more static, PS3 i would say is better even though it has a higher price but with a rechargeable dock and no AAA batteries=win.

but have you consider the people on ps3 with mics compared to 360 with mics. nuff said

Anyone who votes for the 360 headset clearly haven't used the PS headset. There's honestly no comoparison in quality and value. I've gone through about half a dozen mics for my XBOX :x. 360 sets get the job done, but the PS set is just magical :P.

The only drawback is, it's not inluded with the system. I think Sony should start bundling them.

You know that's a problem, but when playing Socom and R2 online it seems like 70% of the players have headsets.

PS3 has the better quality-mic, but most people doesn't have one outside of the Socom-community. At least on Xbox most people that bought a premium has one.

You also have to consider the fact that the xbox-mic is older technology.

That doesn't make the headset any better :?. Though its an issue with PSN (standardization), the matches I play online have a majority of players with headsets. Especially since you can pair any bluetooth set and after the PS set released.

then you're using cheap crappy headsets. both of my bluetooth headsets are clear. i can hear everything and people can always hear me load and clear. sometime actually too loud. some people always think they need to scream into those things to make em work. its the worst when you find a screaming 10 year old. good ol mute

This is really only one of those things you would see on SW

I can think of at least a few good aspects about my 360 that I find better than my PS3, but offical headset? Everyone who voted 360 headset as being better in this topic is obviously a hardcore fanboy.

It would be like if I hosted a topic about which console has superior graphics capabilities, 360 vs. Wii, and you guys voted Wii. That's how ridiculous you fanboys are being right now.

The PS3's "Official" headset is clearly the winner. I traded it in, it was mad uncomfortable and below my Motorola Bluetooth headset. I have never saw a reason to get a wireless headset for my 360, its a nice set up plus it has not failed me ever.

Well let's make it fair, as standard the 360's is better simply because the PS3 doesn't come with one at all wereas the 360 does (unless your a cheapo arcade buyer).

When it comes to purchased one's then there is really no better as the wireless 360's (and numerous others) and the offical PS3's comes down to personal preferance and as such i think there about the same (i like the 360's though as it's nice and comfy for me), however i still say the 360 headsets are better due to the fact one comes with it as standard and the PS3 doesn't (free one > none at all).

it doesn't come down to personal preference....It comes down to which one actually sounds better....and works better

and most people already have a blue tooth...or a usb mic so why include one with the ps3

Nope. I don't treat mine any differently than any of my other peripherals. They never seem to physically fall apart, just the wires inside stop functioning

LOL good one.......according to his logic the playstation online > no online

and you can add XBL for $49.99 just like you can add a bluetooth headset for $49.99

Well yeah, PSN would be better than none at all :D (plus i actully think PSN is not that bad at all - you know not all 360 owners are haters :)).

I have never been able to talk to people long enough on a ps3 game to find out if the new headset works well or not. The audio either drops out every few seconds , nobody responds, people are using the eye toy for communication and all you hear is background noise in their house, or you are too busy trying to figure out what button to press for talking, unlike open mic games on xbox live.

The Wireless 360 headset = A god amongst headsets, the Mircophone is really sensitive, but it doesnt pick up on ambiance and the earpeice is comfortable, the sound is clear and doesnt distort itself when the user yells. (my mate and I both have one)

the simple button codes and lights make it easy to use and operate and It looks pretty sleek.

as for the PS3 headset...well I havent seen/use it so I cant make a judgement. but yeah the simple fact that it cant be used with alot of the PS3s games is a little strange. :?
