People are mixing up being less demanding (because of less content) with it being optminized. I think a few are also still trying to justify their purchase of Crysis 2 which was inferior to the 1st in many ways.

Its because with newer GPUs, it for some reason stops at 50-60% usage of the GPU. It doesn't take advantage of newer video cards at all.
that only hapend when the CPU bottlenecking the GPU.
On my system crysis use 100% of the GPU pretty much all the time (i7 4.1GHz, GTX480 OC, 1920x1200), but when i lower the resolution (to something like 1280x720) then my CPU starts bottlenecking the GPU and i get less GPU usage.

crysis 2 is more demanding when you use DX11, tessellation, etc
