haha true...here let me make it simple. PS3's processor is hella lot more powerful than the wii and it is actually more powerful than the 360. It's just that, it's easier to get a date with a supermodel than to effeciently program it, the 360 has a better graphics card on the other hand. Then again though, a game is not all graphics nor is it determined by which console can do the most floating point calcs.

PS3 has better Memory and CPU, with a GPU that is just about the same as xbox

xbox has more Memory, easier used CPU and a slightly better GPU.

No matter how fast 256MB of memory is it can still only store 256 MB..... And the PS3's OS takes up some 64 MB of memory if im correct.. (could be wrong I guess)

to a few clowns above me... what use is all this speed with the cell if its actually crap for games?

360's xenos is great for games. it also has 3 cores. it can run games above 30fps. fact.

it has MORE ram than the PS3. even if you say "ooooo but my 256mb is clocking at 3.2GHz" that doesnt change

the fact that there is HALF the ram in the PS3 compared to 360. therefor 360 has better memory. speed counts.. but not much.. especially when theres a large difference between them. the GPU is obviously weaker than the 360's everyone already knows this.. as its based off the now rather lame Geforce 7800GTX.. while actually quite a good card.. it pails in comparison to most.

While the PS3's cell is stupidly fast etc. The PS3 just doesnt appear to have been designed for gaming... the cell is about as good for gameing as a single core pentium 4 clocking at 3 ghz :|

Theres not a personal computer on the planet that can touch Cell in any area. Be it memory management, parallel computing, downright speed, whatever. Even the new, highly generic and underwhelming multi-core Intel and AMD processors pale in comparison to Cells capabilities.

Now that the final devkits are out and Cell / RSX are working through the incredibly fast and efficient FlexIO from Rambus those PC's they are using, no matter what they are, aren't going to be able to duplicate what a PS3 will be capable of.

This is why I've been saying for awhile that the PS3 will be able to keep pace with the PC's for years to come without problem. Its just superior in speed, precision, cycle losses being minimized, mathematic processing, physics, geometry, shaders, whatever. Maybe in 4 or 5 years a PC will exist that will make the PS3 port have to be downgraded in a way, but until then its highly doubtful. When you add the system bandwidth, memory bandwidth, SPE local storage cycles being so incredibly low per miss, the highly parallized structure of Cell itself, the RSX's shader capabilities, Cells shader capabilities and rendering capabilities, Blu-Ray and the standard HDD .... well .... lemme just put it this way. The games showcased for the PS3 right now probably aren't even really using 5% of the systems resources or potential.

In general processing the PS3's CELL murders all PC processors..............if you have read IBM's official documentation............it clearly said that all SPEs could be tweaked to run general purpose applications when necessary.

the PPE is general core and as sated by CRYTEK is much more efficient and powerful compared to both 360's XENON and dual core pc processors.


powerpc 6 architecture is around 35% more powerful than power5......how do you expect it to outgun CELL....


Furthermore, the core 2 duo extreme is 20-40% more powerful than fx62................it is not even a match for CELL.
