Which is the best controller ever?

Hey that's a cool controller concept there, I give you props for including an actual d-pad with it.

But hey, where's the Gamecube option? :(

Dual shock 4 of course

I'd rank my top 5 like this:

1. Saturn model 2
2. Genesis 3/6 buttons
3. Xbox Controller S
4. 360
5. Dualshock 4

In general though, the Saturn controller is my go to for everything 2D, and I'm fine with either the 360 or DS4 controllers for 3D stuff.

SNES is the best, but then Sony made the Dualshock and made it perfect.

Pro controller is a great controller but since its an additional accessory for switch I will not include in my list.

DS4 is shit purely based on the battery life. I can even turn the LED off with the tool I use to connect it to my PC and the battery life is still shit.

I suppose I should get an X1 controller so I can compare.

Pretty torn between Xone, X360 and GameCube. They are all pretty similar. Probably Xone atm as that's what I'm used to.

Xbox One controller easily gets my vote.

Been using it for several weeks now and I'm thoroughly impressed. Really solid controller in a nice portable package.

@foxhound_fox: I've thought about getting one of those, they do look great. I am just so accustomed to the X1 pad though, it's strange going back to a d-pad.

Dualshock 4 for me. I just wish you could turn off the light.

If you played the SNES back in the day, it's well worth it. A huge rush of nostalgia comes with first picking it up. It feels exactly the same, aside from the sticks and four shoulder buttons.

Looks like it's official, the XB1 controller is better than the DS4.

Well I dont have tiny hands, so of course the NA designed controller will win.

Xbox One controller is my preferred and is like the standard controller for PC.

Switch Pro Controller for me these days. It is everything I could ask for.

XB1........ daylight............ followed by 360, and Gamecube.

All Dualshock controllers suck (although DS4 is a big improvement).

DS4 would be the winner for me if the dpad was better and the obvious terrible battery life.

Xbox One controller is just perfect for me. The placement of the sticks, the trigger buttons feel nice and it just feels pretty good in my hands when I play. Only controller I use for when I play certain PC games. Close second would probably be the Super Nintendo controller.

For 2D games it would most definitely be the SNES controller. It's perfect.

Of course when you are playing 3D games the controller simply doesn't cut it anymore.

I personally enjoyed using the Gamecube controller (yes, I'm serious), Xbox 360 controller and Xbox One controller. With the latter being my current favourite.

The dualshock can burn in a nasty fire for all I care, what a piece of junk. The Dualshock 3 is one of the worst controllers I've ever used and the Dualshock 4 controller's battery life is shorter than an average Call of Duty campaign. But hey, at least they fixed that:

Either 360 or the 1, I dont have a xbone yet but I do love the controller. I also love the switch pro controller, reminds me of the Xbox controller.

I hate the ds4, I've had 2 each have a trigger snap or go loose. The triggers feel cheap and they designed the thing so that when you sit it down it rests on the flimsy triggers. If someone accidently stepy on it your triggers are done. Its also to small and not enough weight. The need to make a beefier one with better triggers. Also dont like the analog placement being side by side.

GameCube controller is actually my favourite controller of all time... It just feels so great.

My vote is for the Xbox 360. The only flaw that it had was it's d-pad, but other than that, it was perfect. The Xbox One controller is great too, but I didn't like how they made it a little bit smaller than the 360 controller.

An imperfect poll I admit.

The Switch wins twice for me. The Pro Controller is the best one I've even seen and the Joy-Cons - although being way too small for my hands - are the most comfortable ones to use. I love just having my arms haning down being able to play totally relaxed

The dual shock 4 is great for shooters and as it was designed in part by bungie for Destiny you can understand why.

Best all round goes to the 360 controller though in my opinion.

1. SEGA Saturn Model 2 Controller: awesome D-pad, numerous face buttons, and the necessary shoulder ones.
2. Xbox One Elite Controller: paddles allow us to use the face buttons without letting go of the right thumbstick.

My perfect controller has dials for the thumbsticks that you can press on the outer rim and rotate on their own axes. Press forward on the left dial and rotate it right, for example, and the character will move accordingly with the camera. Rotate the right dial up or down and he will look in those directions, or press it to either side to lean around the corner, and vertically to jump and crouch. The dials can be pressed in more than 8 directions, consisting of 360 degrees of digital inputs, but rotation is analog on their axes. There would be a switch to disable the analog input for 2D games, so that you could rotate the dial and hit every digital direction, by using a single motion that would otherwise register a single press.

Why isn't the Steam controller in the options? I actually think it's one of the best controllers out there right now.

For me its the Xbox 360 pad felt it was almost perfect apart from the d-pad.

X360 is still the best.

XB1 controller for me, on PlayStation end I think the DS2 was the one I liked the most, no gimmicks like touch-pad or SIXAXIS or shit triggers.

Easy answer:Xbox One.

The Steam controller is easily the most versatile, but it has a fairly high learning curve, so I could see it not being all that popular.

This poll just emphasizes that people are impressed with whatever they currently happen to be holding.

Easy. Atari Jaguar. For pure versatility, you could not beat those buttons.

Switch Pro is higher quality than the others. Wii-mote was sucky in most instances but when it shines it shines.

I love how the xbox one/elite crushes everything in these polls which pop up pretty often. No matter which forum be it here, IGN, GAF, ERA, etc... The result is always the same.

Give them a chance to sign into their alts, the results may yet change lol.
