Now do we mean Microsoft and Sony or MSGS and SCE?
If we're talking about the base companies, Microsoft is leagues bigger than Sony. I believe I've heard Microsof'ts networth is $120bil while Sony is only around $60bil.
If we're talking about MSGS and SCE, I think SCE is bigger based on their assets (Dev teams, etc.)
[QUOTE="Aku101"]Sony Total Assets: ▲ US$ 180.000 Billion
Microsoft Total Assets: ▲ US$ 72.793 billion

Oooh, guess I'm wrong then. :P Looks like I got them mixed up. xD
Yeah but Microsoft does have a substantially bigger Market Capital than Sony does.
Microsoft
Go to forbes 2000 biggest world companies microsoft is number 63 and sony 182 (btw the biggest companies are banks insurance and oil companies)
Link
Microsoft is much bigger ( market value and profits is what matters most and while assets do matter is not that important )

The TC is asking which one is the bigger company and has the most assets. The answer to that question is Sony. Microsoft has higher market value and profits but that doesn't mean it's the larger company. Market Value is the most important with assets and profits being equal in importance.
If we're talking about the base company, then it easily goes to Sony. They have other electronic endeavors plus Sony Pictures and Sony Music.SuperNecrolol you couldn't be more wrong my friend, MS is a much bigger company than Sony.
A guy...not the company but A GUY in sony ericsson is worth almost 60 billion, which isn't too far off from Microsoft as a company lol. And Sony Ericsson is a division of Sony.usmfan84lol thats irrelevant though, assets of employees are not owned by the company, so whether he was worth 1000 trillion would still make no difference.
I see you know nothing about business, total assets do not decide how big a company is, but it is determined by market cap, and as of today Microsoft - 140.38bSony Total Assets: ▲ US$ 180.000 Billion
Microsoft Total Assets: ▲ US$ 72.793 billion

sony is ranked 91 MS is ranked 119. but MS profit comes solely in software buisness. which I admit is impressive.

Again, revenue DOES NOT determine how big, or how powerful a company is, that is measured in Market Cap. See my earlier post http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Market_capitalizationsony is ranked 91 MS is ranked 119. but MS profit comes solely in software buisness. which I admit is impressive.

Yes I know that, don't assume that I don't know anything about business. The TC asked which company was bigger and had the most assets. Sony has more assets than Microsoft. Now the term "bigger" could mean alot of things by the TC. If the TC means bigger as in more divisions and, total number of employees and how many industries that a company is involved in then again it is Sony. And I already mentioned that Microsof'ts market cap was substantialyl larger than Sony's in my previous posts.
Reading the TC's original post helps alot.

Wow, that was easy.-DrRobotnik-LOL noNintendo is leagues bigger than Sony or MS's gaming division. Also Nintendo's stock value is higher than Sony's (the entire company).

What's do funny about that? Do you realize Nintendo is now the biggest game publisher, with the fastest selling console of all time, and the fastest selling portable of all time. They are taking over the world.[QUOTE="navyguy21"][QUOTE="Aku101"]I see you know nothing about business, total assets do not decide how big a company is, but it is determined by market cap, and as of today Microsoft - 140.38bSony Total Assets: ▲ US$ 180.000 Billion

Still wrong, in the world of business Hard assets >Liquid Assets. Of course sony's revenue is going to be higher because they are heavy in liquid assets(TVs, electronics), which is why the economy hits them harder than Microsoft(investments, building, Software). So that higher number means nothing really to anyone but potential investors who wanna make a quick buck really. The risk is higher on liquid assets as well, If no one buys sony's products (slow economy) then revenue drops, stocks drop, investment returns drop, but buildings(holds value longer) and investmens(in viable areas) windows software will ALWAYS be needed, and used.[QUOTE="DeadMan1290"]
