Which is the Greatest Game Franchise of all Time? It's time to decide!!!

So, after the epic preliminary round, five franchises made it through after the dust had settled. These five gaming franchises command such loyalty that their final tally was well and beyond anything that the other franchises could muster.

And now, based on what you deem to be the absolute best franchises that the gaming industry has ever produced, it's time System Wars, to decide upon which onegaming franchise is the absolute best of all time, better than the others, unqustionably.

The five winners of the previous round have been listed below (you can check on the final tally and the rules for the preliminary voting by clicking on the link proivded above). Mario / Zelda = Sheep

I'd love to see a poll of what people actually thought but lets be honest with ourselves:

Cows are going to vote for MGS even if they don't like because they don't wanna see Halo take the lead.

And lemmings will do the same, as will sheep.

Hermits will probably just pick GTA.

Or moan that Crysis, or whatever, isn't in the poll

EDIT: I voted Halo becuase I genuinely think it's the best franchise out of that list.

Legend of Zelda simply because Majora's Mask, Wind Waker and Ocarina of Time are some of the best games I've ever played.

Easily Zelda, but my order of them would be:

Out of that list, I had to pick GTA. It was pretty close with Mario, but in general I sunk more time into San Andreas.

Who the **** is voting for Halo? I thought it's school time now? Out of those, Zelda. But in terms of how long they've been around and consistency Mario is probably the best.

For me its GTA!

Mario. For me it was story and cinematics (MGS) vs a game that not only is one of the most influental games, but has a whole bunch of AAA games (Mario).

Zelda for me. I grew up with the games and have loved them since childhood. Can't think of a Zelda game I disliked, although there were a few disappointments.

I'd say Mario. He's been around for over 25 years making nothing but the best platformers. It's amazing how he just starred in his best and freshest feeling game (super mario galaxy 2)

REALLY!? The poll made in SW is a poll showing SW opinion? Shocking ;). It is was it is, and he did a great job. People obviously are not overly biased based on system, because the Wii is treated like crap, yet Zelda and Mario are winning. Cause people shockingly know what great series they are.

Mario. When you think of video games as a whole, Mario almost always come to mind.

Factually, its Mario.

Non-factually, based on my preferance:

• Mario: I haven't played that many Mario games, and the ones i did, wile fun, extremely entertaining, did not leave a long term impact on me whatsoever. I don't feel it.

• Halo: Halo, ** it, first one bored me to hell with its horribly bland and repetitive enviorements..

• GTA: I dislike GTA III, i love Vice City & San Andreas, and i like GTA IV. The only one leaving a long term impact on me is SA, but its not yet close.. the story sucks.

• Zelda: I have yet to finish OoT and MM, i'm playing them now. I love them, the charm is so.. like i'm in my moms home, its very comfortable.. Ain't feeling it though because i need to finish one of them first.

• Metal Gear Solid: MGS 1 is top 5 GOAT game, i finished it 3 weeks ago. God is my witness, it left a mark. MGS2 wile not as great, i loved playing trough it also. Currently going trough MGS 3.

Metal Gear Solid is my pick from that list..

To bad Warcraft isn't there, i would have picked that in a heart beat.

There is one big flop in this list.And that is, IDs games missing.Thanks to Quake you have that piece of s*** called Halo, and thanks to Quake we have all modern FPS games.

Zelda no doubt, after all this years the games are nothing less than Epic, Mario is an amazing franchise as well, but for me, Zelda is the way to go.

If you don't like MGS3 right away, give it a bit more time cause IMO it gets way better. I agree that MGS2 is great but not as good. MGS3 at first seemed to be worse than 2, but very quickly picked up for me.

Where's the option for none? I don't particularly love any of them...
