Poll Which is the worst popular racing franchise? (90 votes)
By far, F1 I mean who buys those games?

As if we don't know where this will end up.
If i was to give a serious answer i would say the first 4 pretty much covers it.
never understood why need for speed was popular for EA I thin burnout is a better series
wipeout and ridge racer is just to fill up the console title list when a new playstation is released I swear its the same tracks and everything but they update the graphics every release
rockstar bring back midnight club!
For me I’d say that it’s a toss up between F1 and Wipeout. I tried a couple of the Wipeout games but just couldn’t get into them. I’ve never tried the F1 games though so I guess that I’d go with Wipeout.

Finally a thread of mine you like?
Ridge Racer has probably aged the worst, but it was a beast back in the '90s, pretty much defining the arcade-racer format, along with Daytona USA. In the PS2/Xbox era, however, games like OutRun 2, Burnout and NFS Underground came along and left Ridge Racer in the dust.
Forza shits on GT's face and that's all that matters in a forum like this
Lol.
Anyway, I don't know... they've all had good entries at some point. I think Forza is consistently the best though.
And the F1 games are usually very good too (except every now and then they have a sh*t year, ie. 2015).
Objectively: Mario Kart.
The actual racing is freaking terrible and not competitive at all. There is no skill at all. It is all luck based and you use stupid items to attack each other.
No matter how good of a racer you are, some jerk will hit you with an item and you will be placed in last. How is that a good “racing” experience?
It is not.

Nope, you made a thread about my favourite genre and still fucked it up :(
I didn't even humour you by picking an option so I don't know which one is "winning" but it is SW so I think I already know.
All of them TBH.... I think the racing genre has been pretty stagnated for the last 2 generations as they are one the genre's that haven't been held back by technology like others have.
Sure you can make them look pretty but gameplay wise they've not been held back by technology for years, fighting and sports games have the same problem.
Games that are open world are still improving because those type of games are still limited by technology.
F1 fans usually buy the F1 games and there actually really great. Especially if you have a good wheel set up.
Personally I’d choose the N4S franchise. They are very hit or miss at best and hasn’t been a good one in nearly a decade.
Also what’s the plans for the next worst of poll. Must be getting tricky to think up more genres.

Have you played any of the Forza Horizon games? They are basically open world racing games. They give up some of the simulation aspects for more of a video game feel (still with pretty solid physics), but they are a TON of fun.

I personally don't feel racing genre isn't stagnated for the past decades at all. Forza Horizon games are totally a fresh of breath air and I totally agree FH series is a lot of fun.
@mclarenmaster18:
When I think of “racing” like in real life, we don’t throw lightning and bomb each other. So all those games you listed plus Mario Kart suck as “racing” games.
It is impossible to drive properly in those games and you are NOT rewarding for following proper lines, taking corners correctly etc. There is no skill involved with the driving mechanics.
You get rewarded based on luck, item collecting and figuring out ways to break the system in Mario Kart which is basically staying in 2nd the entire race so you don’t get blue shelled, then hitting the first place guy last second to win. Just one example.
Need for Speed peeked at Underground and Most Wanted was great two but wasn't as good as the Underground series... That said Ridge Racer is pure trash to me.

Oh come on, you know you like them. You don't miss a single one of my threads.
Mario Kart.
I try, try TRY to understand the appeal of this damn game, and I continually fail. It sucks. Stupid rubber band A.I., hence pointless. No feeling of accomplishment, extremely frustrating when any semblance of skill is negated by some lucky power-up gettin' ass shooting shit up my tail at the last second. HATE this stupid franchise, and I'm at a loss as to how it sells so damn well. It epitomizes what I despise about Nintendo's "all inclusive" design philosophy. I'm all for inclusiveness, but not when it compromises good game design.
Die in a fire, MK.

Yeah I've missed a few and the latest one will be the one about the games in April whatever its called lol.
Your threads are all basically the same, what game(s) should we hate today, you really do needhealing :(
EDIT: Oops looks like I lied, but I needed to make that comment lol.
Need for Speed, it was great at one point, but it's gone down hill fast this gen.
Rivals was awesome IMO. I haven't liked the other 2 though.
I enjoyed NFS 2015 ,Rivals and Most Wanted 2012 despite them all having issues. Hot Pursuit 2010 was a great game. Payback is probably enjoyable enough- it's just a shame EA owns the series.
Never cared for Forza and GT or sims in general. Not a big MK fan either.
