I mean seriously guys.. Why all the PS3 bashing. Microsoft isnt perfect either, are we forgetting the "Core" 360 SKU Which Doesnt even have a simple Harddrive?! I mean there is no excuse for that, dont get me wrong I think no BC For $399.99 PS3 sku is a major bummer also but MS having a SKU With no Harddrive is just as bad if not worse. Basically the Core SKU with no harddrive is for gamers that dont care about game saves, live or downloadable content and the 360 is all about downloadable content, live and Game saves, sure you can buy a memory card for what.. $35.00 or so but that puts the 360 at over $300.00 when you can pay $100.00 more and get a PS3 with HDD,Wifi and Blu ray..

So yea, 360 fans dont sit there and pretend that MS is all high and mighty, atleast with the 399.99 PS3 sku you can save your games and still download demos, get online and play online for free right out of the box.. So dont play this Holier than thou game 360 fans, MS isnt perfect either its called BUSINESS and i can gurantee that if you ask ANYBODY which they would prefer, the NO HDD Core 360 for almost $300.00 or the 40 gig PS3 for just $100.00 more they would most definatly take the PS3!!

Is the Core 360 still available in the US, after the introduction of the Arcade?

I don't see the point in the Core, if some games in the future are gonna need a HD. I can understand why many want BC for the PS3 though too.

Heres the thing, the 360s are upgraded while the PS3s are downgraded.

The difference is you can buy a memory card (or get one for free with the Core's replacement) or hard drive (which would still cost less than a PS 3), while you can't buy backwards compatability.

if you want a 60gb for b/c you should by it off ebay they are cheap and if you want a 360 buy one from ebay too they are way cheaper than the ps3 but I wouldnt trust the 360 they might be broken.

I think the new PS3 is worse, because there are so many PS2 games I enjoy, and I don't feel like having 3 PS consoles to play the vast library of PS1 PS2 and PS3 games.

BC = Nice to have, but not necessary. Most PS3 owners would already have a PS2. Who doesn't havea PS2 nowadays? Its been out for 7 years.

HDD = I honestly think this is required for High Definition 7th gen gaming. Plus the lack of HDD in some SKUsannoys game developers, seeing thay cannot guarantee their customers have hard drives.

can't the PS3 get individual emulation downloads for each PS2 game inserted? isn't that what the 360 does for xbox games?

well a 360 HDD is at least 100 for a 20GB, where if you really want to play all the old ps2 games you can find used ps2 or even a new one for like $70 or less. i would definitly take the ps3 over a 360

I think we are forgetting that a 80 GB PS3 still exists and with BC. I mean pure and simply, if you want BC that bad.. Just buy the 80 GB model, heck.. People are buying the 360 elite and just for $50.00 more dollars you can get a PS3 80 GB For $499.99 and aside from a bigger HDD, what does the Elite have that the PS3 80 GB Doesnt.. 80 GB comes with game, Wifi,Blu ray, camera card readers and so on.,. What does the elite come with?! Bigger HDD thats it

BC is fundamental to me, so I won't buy a crippled 40GB, but lack of HDD is the equivalent of tieing a boulder to your legs, jumping from a bridge and trying to swim. You might make it, but odds are you'll get tired and drown.

I believe this will greatly limit 360 games and this should start showing in early 2008 games.

Devil's Advocate:

You can add a HDD to a Core.

You can't add BC to a 40 Gb (on your own, Sony may try later).

So while having a HDD is worst, it isn't an absolute.
