Poll Which is your favorite Souls game? (36 votes)
Let's vote on our favorite Souls game to celebrate the remake announcement to the game that started it all, Demon's Souls! My favorite is still Bloodborne lol. But I'm pumped for the DS remake!

Probably Dark Souls 3 however I haven’t played Sekiro, Nioh, Nioh 2, or Bloodborne yet. I have seen a lot of gameplay of Bloodborne and that one looks the most intriguing to me.
I was wondering if DS3 is good since it's on sale on the PSN for 12$. Though I haven't played Boodborne. Which is better?

Most everyone naming its favorite souls game will be their first Souls experience. Demon's is my first and also my fav. Bloodborne close second.
Dark Souls> Bloodbourne > Demons Souls> Nioh > Sekiro > DS 3 > DS 2 > Lords of the Fallen. Haven't played Nioh 2 yet.
None, as I have not played any. So I suppose lems/hermits/sheep get unrekted hey OP LOL.
You should play one and unrek yourself. Wasn't Remnant inspired by DS? It's all you man!!

I'm no Dark Souls expert, but I did play both. Bloodborne is fast paced with an emphasis on aggressive combat. Bloodborne has a gothic/lovecraftian setting and has werewolves = win.
@DEVILinIRON: for DS, get the DS trilogy physical edition. DS remastered, DS 2: SoFS and DS3 with all dlc is very worth it. Dunno if its available on other platform but its on PS4 and you get a steelcase as well so its very worth it to buy physical.
Bloodborne is perfection get that regardless.
Dark Souls 2 is the GOAT. It broadened the combat system exponentially by introducing some amazing mechanics and a wider weapon set. It made for some truly wild PvP. Playing solo, everything I enjoyed from previous games is still there, but it's on a much bigger scale than the other Souls titles. It's my favorite, and this is coming from someone who loves all of them.
Monster hunter. There, I said it :P.
I never got on with souls games. love the lore, love the story telling, love the atmosphere, love the exploring......don't like the combat.
I have no interest in "Gitting gud" either. i played demon souls and DS2 and both just proved to be a lesson in frustration. It would just boil down to grinding it out and i have no interest in it. I can see the appeal....just not for me.
Dark Souls 3, though I haven't played Demon's souls or Nioh 2 on that list. I thought it did a good job of mixing the flexible combat options of DS with the aggressive enemies of Bloodborne.
I'd say DS3>DS1>BB>Nioh>Lords of the Fallen> Sekiro > DS2
would be my ranking of the ones i've played
I appreciate you lumping all these games into the Souls game category. As it should be with proper reverence to the works that created the spark.
It's always a toss up between Dark Souls and Demon's Souls for me.
Bloodborne is fantastic as well.
Another game I really enjoyed was The Surge 2. Great level design and a fun way to upgrade your gear and weapons.
Demon's, Dark Souls 2, Bloodborne in that order.
Nothing will ever replicate the experience of playing Demon's Souls for the first time. They came close with bloodborne, but it came short.
I don't count Nioh 1 and 2, but if you're including those, they win based upon gameplay alone.
It's hard to say. I love them all(From Software games, that is). In terms of sheer surrealism, and an overall eerie experience, DS1 wins out with me. But Demon's was pretty good in that department, too. Mechanically speaking, BB and DS3 are probably the best, though those games have much more going for them than just mechanics. If we're talking which is best with regard to making me want to chuck my controller through a window, DS2 is it. Those freaking twin tigers out in the snow, dude. I've never been so pissed at a game in my life. **shivers**
Maybe DS1. Surrealism and atmosphere go a long way with me, and DS1 deals that in spades. Such a great game. Such a great series overall.
Oh, and, wimpy gamers need not apply. This thread isn't for you. Tee-hee. ;)
Ranking them based on favoritism
Demon's Souls>Dark Souls>Blood Borne>Dark Souls 3>Sekiro>Dark Souls 2
Ranking them based on quality of the game overall
Bloodborne>Dark Souls>Dark Souls 3>Demon's Souls>Dark Souls 2>Sekiro, I think. Idk.
Nioh is better than all of them. I expect Nioh 2 to be even better. Lords of the Fallen is straight bad, nothing reedming about that game or that other series they made The Surge.

That's a very good synopsis. People think I am crazy when I say I like DS3 better than Bloodborne. But I like the options and variety of locales. I still love Bloodborne, but DS3 really resonates with me.

Wasn't DS3 influenced by Bloodborne?

It most certainly was.
Code Vein. To me, things genuinely feel like a challenge that keeps you on your toes while Dark Souls from my experience just feels like it's hard for the sake of being hard. Also, the AI companion does HUGE favours in getting people into the genre where they would otherwise feel too intimidated to even play a soulslike game.
