Alright, I know this has been asked a lot but... opinions change :P
Mine would be Mario Kart 7.

I put the most time in Mario 64 but I feel Double Dash had the best courses. The Wii version gives the most value with more courses than the others and online.
I feel you can't go wrong with any Mario Kart but I guess going by how much of it I played the N64 version is the best.
Double Dash is easily the best.
Wii flat out sucks, 64 and esp. Snes are dated.
7 is pretty nice though and some of the courses for DS are fantastic.
8 Will finally be the one to beat Double Dash.
Double Dash > Mario Kart > MK64 > Mario Kart 7 > the rest
TWICE THE FUN !!!Â
I still play Double Dash from time to time, it's a great game to play with friends. MK Wii was the worst one of them all imo. What a terrible, terrible sequel. I'm really hoping they do another Double Dash, having two racers on one cart is great !
The original one is also great fun and I must have put hundreds of hours in battle mode. MK64 was enjoyable too, introduced that damn blue shell though.
Really enjoying MK7 on 3DS atm, its got a great selection of tracks and am looking forward to Mario Kart 8.

Of course yours would be 7...
Mines would be Mario Kart DD. Right now, this day, I still pop in DD from time to time to play with friends. I'll tell you all this: If you have DD, select the Baby Park course with the "recommended" track selection, with 4 friends, and put the items on "frantic", and then tell me how many hours you mistakenly lost, playing just that. Aside from that, DD did have the better courses though, and the best weapon selections. I always though that Mario Kart Wii SUCKED horribly compared to DD. The ONLY good thing MKW had going for it to me, was the online infrastructure for the Wii at that time. The weapons was horribly imbalanced, and the bikes was not a warm welcome to the series to me (hence why I'm kinda skeptical about Mario Kart 8). Although I loved DD, it wasn't without it's faults like my number 1 problem with DD was the imbalancing with the karts. It was suppose to be that smaller karts start out the fastest, but have the lowest overall top speed, the medium karts was the middle classed karts (moderate acceleration, moderate top speed), while the heavier karts was suppose to have low acceleration, but a higher top speed. It seemed to me that the acceleration specs were true, but everyone had great top speed, in which gave the smaller karts at a relative unfair advantage. Overall though DD had my vote for the best MK, while MKW had my vote for the worst.
Then you must have a massive amount of time on your hands. Because god forbid he doesn't like something.[QUOTE="Ballroompirate"]
None, not a fan of the Mario Kart games.

Yeah. The complete lack of single player options and the poor character design completely killed the game, especially after the tour de force that the previous handheld installment- Mario Kart DS- was.7 was just so meh...

Double Dash is the best. DS is a close second. 7 was a bit of a disappointment, though still an improvement over Wii. 8 looks brilliant. charizard1605I don't understand why people think DD is best, it was broken as all hell. You grab toad and a baby mario or luigi and you have a significant advantage. I mean the idea is cool, but thevspecial items ruined much of the multiplayer.

Especially one of the Kongs, or Bowser, or Boo, completely balance out the Babies. Also, the Koopas get special Red and Green shells, which is again a great help in the track. I actually find Double Dash to be the best balanced in the series.

And that is because, guess what, I don't care for it enough. It's still a good game, Mario Kart is bound to be by design and definition, and it has item balance, in particular, nailed, but it lacks the sheer fun and soul of DS and Doule Dash. Sorry.7 was just so meh...

You're on. Oh, I forgot to say- in Brawl.More importantly, how did they forget to add in a single player VS?Plus there's no mission mode in 7, how did they forget to add that?

I've become so burned out on Mario Kart at this point that I lost all opinion on the matter. I will say that I play these games almost exclusively for time trials because the races are a joke with those items. Mario Kart 7 had some of the poorest track designs in the franchise with a few exceptions like Rainbow Road and the coin mechanics just kill time trials for me...
I might go ahead and pick Mario Kart Wii for having really well designed tracks for addictive time trials...
All of them since they're all exactly the same.RR360DDOh wow, you're so clever with your trolling. Teach me your ways. [QUOTE="khoofia_pika"] They didn't "forget" anything, they chose not to do it. Not a smart decision, in retrospect, but still, they didn't "forget". No, it was an oversight due to the extremely rushed schedule the game had. The game being rushed is smething Iwata has confirmed multiple times.

Man, don't even. Consistently.' That's a keyword you missed there. I played it in chunks. I played it when not came out because there literally was nothing else on the 3DS to play. Then I clocked in another round dozen hours because of all those PUSH nights we had last July. But I don't play it consistently enough, or hell, enough (my playtime on both DS and Double Dash is ask least five times this) because the game simply isn't as fun, plain and simple.
I'm with you on this one Charizard. Mario Kart 7 felt completely dead and uninspired to me. I think a lot of it had to do with less than interesting track designs. I don't know... It felt like they didn't even try this time or something.

When developers rush games, they don't "forget" to add stuff, they choose not to do it so that they can complete the development and release the game in time. Sheesh

I actually felt like it had some excellent tracks- Maka Wuhu, Wuhu Loop, Music Park, Rainbow Road in particular stand out- but the game was less than the sum of its parts. Please Log In to post.
