PS3 or 360?

I say 360 by a slight margin. Halo 3, Mass Effect, and others come out this year. MGS4 will be good, but not good enough

I thought MGS4 wasn't on Konami's release list for 2007? Proven untrue? Anyways I've got high hopes for Mass Effect, but any console can take it.

yeah i think you are being overly confident to believe that the GOTY will have to be either a PS3 or 360 game... devs are still making games for the PC and the Wii you know.

In games library? I'd say this year is a competition between the PC and the 360, the Wii will be a competitor if Galaxy, Brawl or MP3 turns out to be a 9.7ish game.

GC had a pretty crappy line-up and it still managed to have 3 GOTYs. It's all about one game. If GC has nothing but Metroid in 2002, it'd still win GOTY. And Wii has a way better line-up than the GC.

CRYSIS name one game that looks better, exactly end of discussion and dont say a PC game cant win over halo, half life 2 beat halo 2 at the DICE awards 2 years ago. also the wii belongs in this as well. supermariogalaxy, supersmash bros. brawl, metroid prime 3 are good enought to be contenders, especially since the first metroid prime won goty on gamespot when it came out. also new ips like no more heroes, project hammer, and disaster if they reach critical acclaim can make a run at it as well. dont count any system out, as far as im concerned i pick crysis to win, i dont play games on pc at all, but i am so hyped up about this one. i might actually set my pc up to play games for this game.

That dosen't mean you take them out as contenders. A system only needs one amazing game to get GOTY. ANd with MP3, SSBB, and Galaxy it could happen.

Crysis can't win? Successor to Far Cry, what will be the best looking game of it's time on release? Hellgate London can't win, composed by old Blizzard devs who were instrumental in Diablo? There's no reason at this point to tip your hat to MGS or Halo any more than these games, because we simply don't know how they'll turn out.

This is why this thread fails. It's not about line up it's about one great game, and the Wii or the PC might have one great game this year... who knows at this point it's way to early to be talking about games of the years...

Also don't count the PS2 out yet... God of War 2... looks mighty good.

because you are terrible that is why your mind sucks. the wii has great lineup of games, Like Pokemon Battle Revolution, Super Paper Mario, Metroid Prime 3, Animal Crossing, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Red Steel 2, Mario Striker Charged, Mario Party 8, I bet you its Metroid Prime 3 that will be GOTY.

Technically, that's incorrect. The GameCube is not the system with the most GOTY awards.

Metroid, Mario, Zelda, and SSB are all extremely overrated. I wouldnt be suprised if 2 or 3 got A. But i revoke my PC comments, it has a strong lineup as well.Haloissosweet_
In your opinion, alot of people will say metal gear solid is overrated. i love it but dont say its overrated when it does have strong fanbase and strong history of success. i absolutely hate god of war and most final fantasy games, but i know they are good contenders for goty since they have historically reached critical acclaim and sell very well. dont be a hater and just accept that any console can have GOTY sheesh

I thought your insult to the wii was subtle at first. But this makes it as blunt as a hammer. Please re-do your thread. The wii has great games, my GOTY prediciton goes to SSBB.

True, that goes to the PC, technically. But it won the most GOTY awards of any console in a generation, excluding the PC. >_>

Granted, all those PC GOTY awards came from when there was Gamespot, which only did PC games, and videogamespot, which did all console games. >_>

Overrated? no i dont think so, no one could possibly hate all four of those game series without having been traumatized by something nintendo in the past. None of the following will receive lower than an 8.5: The next console Zelda, Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, and SSBB. If you're going off what the past games are like, then there's no way that I can be wrong, right?
