Which of the 3 consoles....

Has the most glaring faults? Here is my opinion of all 3 console's faults purely from a hardware standpoint...

XBOX 360...Unreleiable hardware due to poor cooling and ventilation. Imo MS should have ditched the memory card slots in favor of air vents. This would have probably alleviated alot of the issues. Also, not including HDMI in the first place was just dumb. This is supposed to be the HD era and to launch a console without a true HD input is just lame!! Seriously MS?? Tray loading again??? Imo slot loading seems to be the way to go andtray loading method just seems flimsy and dated!!! Maybe MS will address this if they ever have a redesign on the 360!!

PS3....I think Sony focused way too much on being the everything to everyone system and not enough on being a gaming console first and foremost. I know the majority of you think that peripherals are not the way to go, but I dont think any of us can deny that if the PS3 hadn't included the BluRay and WiFi that the PS3 would be right up with the 360 and Wii as far as sales go because it would be priced in that $399 range. The Sixaxis Imo is a great controler and motion sensing is very cool and if used properly will be very cool as a gameplay feature. However, as we have seen with Lair, to make a game that uses motion control as its entire basis with no optionsis asking for trouble. Im betting from now on that Sony makes all devs put both motion and analog control as options for their games! I can all but guarantee that if Lair has offered analog control, even with its other faults it would have scored in the 7-8 range here at GS and IGN!!!

Wii....C'mon Nintendo! We all know that you are "just about games", but no HD? No DVD playback? This Imo is what is preventing the Wii from totally taking over in a total domination kind of way!!! In fact, as a Wii owner, Id trade having no DVD playback for HD quality graphics!!! Im not even talking 1080p here either. Give me 720p and 1080i and games like MP 3, SSBB, SMG and others would just crush the opposition. Yes, I know that graphics are not everything, but they are what will initially draw gamers to your console!! Also, Nintendo needs to beef up its online to be as good as what PSN and XBL are!

Overall, all 3 consoles have their strengths and the way I see it, they also have some fundamental flaws as well! I like all 3 systems and think that each will have alot ot offer over the next several years. But just think what could have been!!!

Most glaring stuff, completely IMO:

360 - somewhat extreme lack of games (c'mon sep. 25...).

PS3 - somewhat extreme lack of games.

Wii - extreme lack of games, esp. online games. Too many games use the Wiimote stupidly, like the DS's touchscreen.

PC - somewhat extreme lack of games.

all according to my gaming taste. And I know what I'm talking about; I'm a picky guy, I guess. That, and there are things other than gaming that are just as enjoyable. No more shelling out $60 for a 20 hour or less single player only game. I'll rent those from now on.

Please people, stop saying No Online. Do you know how foolish that makes you look? Even though the Wii offers the bare minimum when it comes to online play, it still has online.

I think he meant lack of real focus on online. Sure it's there, but not implemented at the level of XBL or even PSN.

after outber the wii will have some good online games bwii will be a good game to play online with the wii and dont forget about medal of honer 2 heros thats gonna have 32 players that should be enough to hold anybody over till noverber wen socie vs mario that will be online as well i think the wii came off to a slow start but will make up for it very soon

(TC)but you jus said PS3 is trying to be everything,and you jus said the wii needs DVD playback...? Wouldnt that make the DVD a DVD player. Dont fumble over your thoughts. MGS4 and FF13(tekken 6,Monster hunter 3,White Knight Story... o so more) made me buy a ps3... walks away.
