I know we have our reasons for buying, even if we can argue to death over it. However, the 3 consoles of choice are not perfect. Who do you think is taking advantage the most...

Nintendo- promises of a more powerful than XBOX1 graphics engine seem to be false... and after the 3 games coming out soon your next thing is Wiifit... WTF!?!

Microsoft- Broken record, broken consoles... LOTS of add on's (the milkage)... Online costs money (albeit not much money)

Sony- An utter mess with price, "I don't want a Bluray player, I dont even have an HD tv yet!" yet your getting one wether you want it or not... pretty much zero games that you can't play for 250 dollars cheaper...

What do you think...

You should say "which of the big 3 is treating their fanboys most unfair?". To most uf us here the console to buy is still a voluntary choice after all. They're not forcing us anything.

I say it's a three way tie. Nintendo promises to please the hardcore gamers as well as the casual, but I've been slightly disappointed since finishing Zelda... of course, hopefully the "Big Three" can help change that a little. Microsoft on the other hand gives us lots of games, but has crappy unreliable hardware. Sony, well, they don't have games, a good price point, or truly good hardware reliability.

I would say Nintendo, for gamers in Europe they get treated like crap. Only now are they getting Trauma center, still no Paper Mario, the latest Wii patch killed Freeloader so they can't play their imported Gamecube games on Wii, Nintendo have always hated Europe since they chose Genesis over SNES.

All of them for Australia.

MS: No elite, no HDMI, no video market place, missing tons from the whole market place.

Nintendo: No SPM still, priced as much as the core 360.

Sony: It costs $1000, no price drop, no 80gb.

Well i honestly cant decide between well i have to give this one to microsoft.

Nintendo is basicly turning theyr console into a fisherprice product leaving alot of "gamers" empty handed. The consoles low price is a mild comfort.

Sony, well they seem to have turned around quite a bit since the release fiasco.I am still skeptical about the blueray and the cells dificulty to program for is costing them some 3d party publishers.

Microsoft... the milkage. i can understand the xbox basic and premium sets but elite? come on its almost the price of a freaking while half of those "elite features" should have been standard to begin with (HDMI port anyone?).
- Bringing out a faulty product for the sake of avoiding the competition with an early release makes microsoft the winner for me.

the 360's problems stem from its hardware issues mainly. But it also suffers from a lack of "high-capacity disc space", and standard HDD's.

The Wii is SEVERELY lacking quality online, and people (fanboys) are still ripping on its past-gen hardware.

Where as the PS3's problems stem mainly from it's price point, and (current) lack of Software.

But all the companies are trying their best for your bucks.

MS is trying to fix their hardware problems, doing as much as they can to compensate their consumers for any losses they incur, whilst still preventing bankruptcy :P. Lets not forget their most recent price drop, which is bound to move more consoles. (IMO they just can't do enough to match the PS3's "future" market strategy, including high-capacity, HD format, with a standard HDD)

Wii is working on its online, trying to open it up a bit more, and it is coming out with more graphic games. (But graphics aren't the Wii's strong point anyway)

And Sony is playing with it's price points, testing the waters to see how well price drops effect sales. I have a feeling once the 60GB systems sell out, we will see another price drop for the 80GB version. (If they don't, they will suffer this holiday season, MUCH worse than they have to.) Sony is also working on its online strategy, introducing Home, and patch 2.0 (still debatable). Also, lets not forget, in just over a week, a varitable FLOOD of QUALITY games (actually worth reviewing) is coming, starting with Warhawk, then Lair, and Heavenly Sword, all in less than a month :))

So all three are competing actively still. Its not like any of them are just giving up and saying "bah, screw the consumer, either they like it or leave it!" lol.

I would say MS

Dropped xbox supportso quickly.
still charging for online game via Live.
Worst is the broken consoles. And the 3 yr warranty only covers RROD.

Not point in spending money on a 360 if it breaks so easily. Have to wait till 65nm and see what happens.

Microsoft.

1. Crappy hardware.

2. Overpriced accessories (just about everything).

3. Pay for online.

4. No gamesharing.

5. Crappy customer service.

6. Took 2 years before getting something done with an extended warrenty.

I think all the companies are trying to keep their customers happy...PS3 and 360 are trying to get the price down, while put out great games, 360 is extending warranties trying to fix their issue as soon as possible...WII is trying to get third party support and make sure real games are coming out on the wii.

Each console has had troubles, completely different ones, but I think all of them are trying to keep their consumers happy. All the companies just have different strategies.

Probably Nintendo, even though they claim they are trying to cater to the hardcore market they have mostly abandoned it. I know what the reply to this response is gonna be, MP3, SSBB, SMG but honestly after that what have you got?

I think MS messed up but they have fixed their blunders with the 3 year warranty. They are trying to get back in the good graces of the consumers and even that might be hard, I think they can do it. I mean cmon, they took a 1 billion dollar loss just due to fixing broken 360s(Yes, it is their fault but still)

I think Sony is doing the best in customer satisfaction though honestly. I mean they have made the ps3 like a tank. BC is great, they are trying their best. KZ2 is exactly as promised just as numerous other titles. Please dont say omgz the drought. Every console has had a drought and the ps3 is no different. Nevertheless, the drought will be ending soon.

Just my thought... How about Sony because at this point there really is no reason to own one... All fanboyism aside and future hype put away... The PS3 is pretty bad right now and it's the most expencive...

For games already released yes.
However the PS3 has some mighty impressive excluives coming its way in the 2008 lineup while 360 so far only has shown us multiplats for its lineup. im hopingmicrosoft is keeping back a few good suprises for leipzig.

Your topic is asking which of the big 3 takes advantages the "MOST", I would sayMS cause they sold something that breaks easily for how many months?

And still no confirmation of them fixing their design flaw yet. Hopefully 65nm will fix it. So what happens to the 11 million that bought the 90nm. Screwed big time.On top of that, their 3 yr extended warranty only covers RROD so if you got 1 or 2 red lights, you still got to pay to get it fix. Is that milkage or what? 11million people, you do the math.

Nintendo has shafted its core gamers.

This is hard to say, I can't say it's Nintendo because they've had no problems and they're doing some good to the industry with the casual market. The 360 has been unfair to the Aussies before, I guess, but even with the breaking consoles, they're trying their hardest to rectify that issue. I can't say for sure that any are being downright unfair, but I do think Sony is my choice. No really outstanding games, not that many games, and a crappy online service. Well, Home is coming, but I do think banning and entire IP address isn't fair!

Game on!

All 3 are trying to treat their customers well. Lets run through PROS and CONS

Ninty
+Cheapest console in a generation of high price
+Making changes
-Failing to give a harddrive or much online content
-Not giving fans the online features they should, such as contact with the person you're lpaying online with?

Sony:
+Giving customers a lot of free online stuff
-Not giing their customers a cheap system for what it's worth

Microsoft
+Gave their fans a head start on the gen
-Forgot to work out the bugs on 360

Enough with the philosophy the PlayStation 3 has zero games. You buy it or not, it's your choice. Those who love Blu-Ray bought a PlayStation 3. Sony in my opinion treats their hardcore customers the best. Hardware failure is 0.2% (PS3Fanboy.com). There are games on the system that are really fun to play whether you believe me or not.

You're probably better off not quoting your source. Also 60% of ps3 owners dont know that it has a blu ray player (drive).

Well, after the amount of cash i would say Nintendo is doing good.

Remember, Nintendo is just gaming and doesn't earn cash from other things. They are worth 7mrd dollars, and were worth 5,5 before the Wii came out. They could never put in 2,5 mrd in a console like Ms did.

Nintendo is the only company that actually earns on video gaming, Ms is losing money and i think sony is about even. Of course the others will start earning, but Nintendo can't afford to lose money.

Yet, Nintendo has a serious lack of 3party and online games.

I agree with the TC on all of the consoles. I think all of them have fallen far short of what they should be bringing us.

Sony - Lack of titles throughout the first year. Lack of releases for PSn (movie trailers, game trailers, games, and DEMOS). The demo thing is really lame. They've not given, in light of their price, many titles to pull gamers in, this first year.

MS - Can't get away from the reliability issue. I think it would really help if they actually disclosed the actual causes of the issues (to this day, i have not seen them do this). Also, going with a SKU without and HDD and going with a console with DVD-9 will end up hurting the games or the gamers, IMO.

Nintendo - Where's the online? And quit woith the supply issue already. There's been more than enough time to get it rolling. Just seems odd.

THIS^ is one of the reasons, and yeah Genesis outsold SNES in Europe lol. But that aside Nintendo are just plain lazy...and they say they will repremand anyone who imports games...LMFAO dumbasses.

Sorry but this statement is FALSE. PS3 is too expensive for a VG console and people realise that hence why PS3 sales are low but don't say sony are making it expensive for the sake of it. PS3 is worth around $800 to be exact and they are selling it off as a huge loss.

Wii: 3rd party dvelopers don't care about the Wii's maximum capabilities. ask questions when mp3 comes out.

360: overpriced accesories (BAD) and totally unreliabl (bad). xbox live is class and i would gladly pay. (good) and great exclusives like halo 3 (good) and has the best game library currently from having a head start. (good)

ps3: i dunno, a real letdown graphics wise. i muust say. doesn't look so awesome to me. i was like "man rebel strike had that much detail". but hey cows seem contenct :s.

conclusion: ain't gotta clue.
