Here is how it is...i am 100% Nintendo fanboy, i love the Wii and have been supporting it day 1.

But last gen i missed out on alot of games, 1st party microsoft and sony, also alot of titles like splinter cell, brothers in arms, etc etc went ps2 and xbox...so i said next gen ill get a ps3 or xbox

i havent bought either, im leaning towards the 360, because its got gears, and halo, and jade empire, which i wanted to play since xbox....and i hear they making je 2.

but my dilema is this, games that i want to try like rainbow six vegas, devil may cry 4, assasins creed, call of duty, etc etc are going ps3 and xbox and i dont know which is better, dont really matter to me about graphics...

but as a newbie sorta to the 360 and ps3, i am aware of the titles and exclusives but i cant decide...need alittle comparison, what u chose and why?

Id go with the PS3 for all of the PS2 games you could play. Its just a huuuuuge number of great games and great games coming in the future.

If the price is an issue with you, buy a 360. It also has great games , and it has awsome games coming this year such as Mass Effect, Halo3 , Bioshock, etc.

Can't really base your decision on graphics since they both can do things that the other can't do. Go with 360 because like nivet14 said, cheaper, great online and more games.

You made already a good decision by buying the Wii!
Just wait with your purchase till the end of this year.
Don't rush it. They will be new cheaper versions of the consoles that are more stable,
and also the fog of this next-gen war will clear a little bit.

If u have an HD TV or just want to buy a complete console.. get a PS3

I got a 360 and realize i had to spend spend and spend.. to at least get a decent console

You can get the same thing with PS3, my friend has one and I'm dieing to buy one!

Great games!

But hey.. don't go by what people say here in system wars,try to find for your self what console is best for you!

Cause who's gonna play and have fun is you!

Go for the Xbox 360. You mention games such as Devil May Cry 4, Rainbow Six Vegas, Assassins Creed and Call of Duty. These are all on or going to be on the Xbox 360.

Id go with the PS3 for all of the PS2 games you could play. Its just a huuuuuge number of great games and great games coming in the future.
If the price is an issue with you, buy a 360. It also has great games , and it has awsome games coming this year such as Mass Effect, Halo3 , Bioshock, etc.

Yep, get a 360. Emphasis on the more games. Or you could wait and see who buys Take Two, because if it's Sony (highly highly unlikely) you might want to get a PS3.

From a pure gamer perspetive all you need is a X360($299) a memory unit($39) and XBL($50) with the $210 you save by not buying a 60GB PS3, you can have every X360 Launch title worth getting and all of X360's 2006 hits. So for gaming ATM: X360 > PS3.

Assuming that he has an HDTv, and HD movie players are, at the moment, unproven and The X360 has proven that you dont need that to have a great system. If he does purchase a PS3 he would have to spend $710 before he can play a PS3 game that he owns. If you can spend that kind of cash on a system then buying a few extra peripherals to make PS2 games work on PS3 then it should be no problem

I'm stuck between the PS3 and 360 too, but right now I'm buying a 360. Better games, better graphics, and lower prices. The PS3's time will come in a year or so when it's got a bunch of great game, but until then I'm going Wii60.

I'm in a similar position to the TC. I plan on waiting until the end of the year to decide what I'll get to go with my Wii. By then I think we'll have a better idea of which of the PS3/360 is going to be the best option.

Well I think at this present moment you even sound like your sold on a X360. Which is a good choice as atm its the better library. And the future looks bright as well. I'd go X360...

This person is not a ideal person to listen too. Too much fanboy in him. I will own all 3 eventually like last gen. I loved the PS2 and now I adore teh 360. It has the better games and PS3 really hasnt got the library yet!!! Don't listen to such biased views... best look up the present and future titles on the systems and make your mind.

Great thanks!! Ive decided that i wont get EITHER!!! i was browsing on the sites, koatku, and it seems there is better 360 in the works or something...a black one i duno if ireal or what...but i remember hearing in a podcast that msn might give a price drop... so i think ill just end up waiting about a year or less, but in the time being ill just invest in a better tv, component cable worthy for the wii. and which ever i chose ill get later, prolly around x-mas cause they would have bundles and more bang for my dollar. cause im a cheap gamer, im very picky, and i want to know what i am getting is damn worth it. so far so good with all my nintendo consoles, and handhelds, although i was pissed as hell too se the dslite, but holding one in my hands teh day it came out felt like a a new child lol

Why are you bashing The 360? I have'nt said anything bad about PS3, you sound fanboyish. Your also missing my point, if he just wants to play the games he mentioned, Assassins Creed, DMC4, Call of Duty then why buy a PS3 for $580-710 when you can buy a 360 to play those EXACT SAME GAME for ATLEAST $200 less. Its not about preference when your on a budget, its about what you can afford and what works. A complete console does not mean "Everything out of the box" Cause everything in the box may not be of use to you. I dont own an HDTv with HDMI, so how would that be of any use to me? But if I was to purchase a HDTv later on, I have the option of buying an Add-on, thanks to the OPTIONS of The Xbox 360.

Id go with the PS3 for all of the PS2 games you could play. Its just a huuuuuge number of great games and great games coming in the future.
If the price is an issue with you, buy a 360. It also has great games , and it has awsome games coming this year such as Mass Effect, Halo3 , Bioshock, etc.

True, but you could probably get a 360 and a PS2 for the same price as a PS3. If you need a Blu-ray player get the PS3, but if you want the games right now go with the 360 PS2 combo.

Also, you don't have to pay $50 for XBL, because if your a nintendo fan, theres a good chance, like me, that you have little to no intrest in online gaming. Even so, you can pay for that monthly, you dont have to spend it all at once.

From a pure gamer perspetive all you need is a X360($299) a memory unit($39) and XBL($50) with the $210 you save by not buying a 60GB PS3, you can have every X360 Launch title worth getting and all of X360's 2006 hits. So for gaming ATM: X360 > PS3.

So everyone who buys a Hi-def console owns an HDTv? If not then Blu-ray in PS3 is rendered useless which is why I said FROM A PURE GAMING PERSPECTIVE. Wether he buys the $40 memory unit and the core version or he opts for the premium which comes with a 20GB HDD, he will still end up paying less. Thats why if money is an issue for playing games X360 > PS3 ATM

Your only substantiation to get a PS3 is PS2 games and BlueRay?! Ohh and the games coming out in 08/09... Please be realistic... if he wants a console NOW (as in March '07) what reason is there to go with a PS3?? Sure PS3 has potentiall but for now its game library is lacking when compared to Xbox360. And who knows... maybe by the time some good games come out for PS3 the price will drop. My recommendation is Xbox360 now and PS3 later... waiting for zephyr is a good choice as well (zephyr hasn't been officially confirmed yet has it?). My 2c
