Which platform has the best online multiplayer community? XBL, PSN, or PC?

In my experience........

XBL = Fake thugs, 23 year old college doucebags and whinny 12 year olds.

PSN = Majority mute gamers(feel like I'm playing bots) and foreigners(mostly Japanese, British, and Spanish).

PC community = Mute elite hackers who will kick you from a server if your not apart of their uber cool clan. :roll:

With all that said I seem to like the xbl community the best. Sure there voices are annoying and they threaten me with racial prejudice, but that's what gives it it's charm. I love when people talk $#%& over the mic and send me offensive voicemail because I pwned them in a game. Hell at least xbl community talks. It's better than playing a hacked multiplayer match with people who's language I don't understand or a bunch of mutes.

You clearly haven't spent much time on PC MP. Is that what you've heard from console fanboys?

PC or PSN for your above reasons. I don't like hearing people talk while I play.

its been the same to me.... But on PC I like the server browser so at least I can pick the server I want to play in, and not just play any random set of people. So in a way PC is a little better.

PC has a higher concentration of dedicated servers, typically has larger maps and players limits, has a lot more people playing for some games (TF2 for instance), typically has server browsing instead of matchmaking, and best of all there are no fees outside of MMOs unlike Live on the 360.

PC..no contest... mainly due to servers... seeing the same people all the time . chatting with them etc... cant really do that with ps3/360.. (not LITERALLY...jeez)campzor

I''ve found a high percentage of jerks on all 3. The only difference is that on XBL most of them have voice.

There are jerks everywhere. On PC, it depends on the game, really. It also depends on where you are playing said game. For example, certain European DotA channels in Battlenet are swarmed by kids who just love to say how much they admire your mothers genitals all the time. There are some communitites you can join and get to play with some really cool people though. On games like Starcraft, whiney kids and flamers are the exception, not the rule, at least to my excperience. Same for Battlefield. it really depends on the game, games that are really popular with kids and immature teens are bound to have more flamers and whiners than others.

you sir are a very smart man, xbl is full of children and folks with taste but no real skill per say (anyone brings up mlg is getting shot), the PSN well sicne it came back online its been full of whiney crybabies and folks with alot of risentment towards sony. who are probably jsut too afraid to try another system or are the true sony brand faithful. pc is full of a collage of people and several trolls and jerk. this being said msot of can be ignored or bypassed. and communities of older games dont tend to take kindly to newcomers but can still be enjoyed tf1 and cs1.6 stand as prime examples of this as can bf 1942 & starcraft I

Console gaming doesn't really have much in the way of a community for the most part. Whenever I play console MP I'm just dumped into a match with a bunch of randoms.

On PC when I play CS for example, I join a server that I always play on where I know the regulars and the admins... I've never experienced anything like that on consoles.

Online communities vary more on the game than they do a platform methinks.drinkerofjuice

generally you are correct. and when your talking communities mmo's are like in a cloud off to the side above everything else due to their nature BEING communities itself.

i got this one guy who's jsut HTAED by all sorts of folks because hes got a secret rit build for UW solo clear. he can do EVERYTHING with it omitting duhuum of course. how epic is that! he gets raged at because its not the cookie cutter SoS build most folks run down there.

look em up someday my main's name is "Lady Avariace" im actually logged in right now. im helping a buddy i met here restart his GW account actually i jsut helped him sell off the last of his stuff b/c he wanted to start fresh.

PC for sure because you have choice. I join a tf2 server with jerks, i never go on it again and join a better one. Simple as that. In halo 3 i have 0 choice of who i play with unless my online friends are on.

xbl, BUT, the only reason for that is that there are like 20 people on my friends list from rl that i personally know and i have also taken more time to develop my xbl friends list compared to my psn one.

it really boils down to how much effort you want to put into getting a great fl.

Haha yeah, Bad Company 2. We get into a server and find out that the hosts are super lame and whine about base raping or whatever, so we make sure to never go back there.

PC. It's the only really organized community for online multiplayer, but structuraly and event-wise. PSN and XBL are mostly just random people playing with eachother.

I think it more depends on a game rather than a platform. Sometimes it even depends on a server.

I actually prefer the lack of an organized community on consoles. I jump in, play a few games, and jump out. No clans, no exclusivity, just the game. My way isn't what everyone wants out of gaming, but it works great for me.lowe0

Because sorting by ping and clicking a random server is so braincracking.

PC s 1st with a tie between XBL and PSN in 2nd. In PSN you don't get as much trashtalkers as XBL but you also don't get as much interesting and awesome conversations with people while playing a game.

PC because it has the most options for community customisation and interaction such as mods, custom maps, admin justice, dedicated servers, easy video capture etc. On consoles you have to work with an inflexible, preconfigured framework for community creation and interaction, on PC you're free to do everything.

Ah, you're asking about the community itself. That depends on what game. Generally I found PC to be better in most games, some being BFBC2, CoD4 and TF2, but there's a whole bunch of variables including location. One thing's for sure though, nothing matches the dedicated communities for small PC games and mods. In that regards PC is leagues better.
