need for speed games are probably the only racing games ive cared for. Specifically, the first NFS: underground.
I haven't played one in a long time (burnout revenge being my last one and GT3 the last sim racer) but I would say GT5 appeals to me more than anything these days, so, sim racing because I think the depth of those games make for a more interesting/satisfying experience.
I like them all for different reasons, but I have a particular soft spot for futuristic racers. Why go 200mph when you can go 800mph, even if that strains belief? I just wish there were more quality examples. Wipeout, F-Zero, and Extreme-G are the only ones with great entries in nearly a decade and two of those haven't been made this generation. Fatal Inertia has an interesting feel, but that certainly isn't enough.
There were some other decent games in that "genre" such as Quantum Redshift or Powerdrome, among others.I like them all for different reasons, but I have a particular soft spot for futuristic racers. Well F-racing is my LEAST favourite but as for the other 4 - it really depends on my mood and I would say on balance I like them all equally.
i like racing games in general... however i prefare sim racers.. although i admit this gen i had loads of fun with the likes of Wipeout HD, Modnation Racers & Mario kart & Motorstorm games :)
Kart racing is generally more enjoyable, but i find myself playing Sim racers with my friends much more frequently.
It'shard to choosebetween Street Racing and Off-Road because I love power-sliding my way around corners.
But I like street racing better because of the shiny colourful cars.
Sim Racing, but real simulations like GTR-2,iRacing,rFactor or WTCC,not arcade/sims like Forza or GT.Arach666lies. all lies. GT is a real driving simulator. It says so on the box!:P

need for speed hot pursuit is the kind of racing games i like. i also like racing sims to a point. but can only stand playing them once every gen. think thats why after putting so many hours into forza 2. i couldnt play forza 3 and aint really hyped for gt5
The only racing series I have really gotten into is Ridge Racer. Mario Kart is good for 2 player and that recent Sega kart racing is pretty good as well.
I like sim shooters but sim racing games put me to sleep. I tried to get into Gran Turismo but it felt more like a job than a game.
To me forza games are soo much satisfying. Once you master how you car handles and you get together a group of people that know goh to play as well then it's one of the most satifying online experiences you can have.
Sims.
I find them more interesting, challenging and rewarding than arcade racers.
+1, everyone here seems to be a fan of burnout games which i also like, oh and wipeout.Arcade, PGR is my favourite racing franchise ever since I first played Metropolis Street Racer 10 odd years ago.
