I hate XPlay, they're a joke. They were awesome when they were Extended Play back in the glory days of their reviews and game coverage, but Sessler and Manjaw are two of the most inane, bickering dingbats in game journalism.
I typically go by the GameSpot reviews. Not 100%, but for the most part GS hasn't steered me wrong. On a few occasions, sure, but they typically gel with my opinions. Coincidentally, that's also why I'm still a member. Game Informer is pretty good, and I also like GameSpy. JoyStiq is pretty good, too. Also a fan of GamesRadar, particularly their Super Reviews!
I used to like 1up a lot, but now I don't know how I feel about them. Eurogamer is pretty good, though.
Say what you want but I enjoy watching Adam Sessler. Not to mention sesslers soapbox. And since I have a subscription to it, Gameinformer as well. What say SW Brotherz?Heroldp813
I wouldn't call the reviews aired on X-Play good, but Adam Sessler is probably the best video game critic out there. I think most of the reviewers here at GameSpot are good too.
Sessler seems genuine in his opinions, so I can definitely respect that. I don't get that feeling from most reviewers, more like they are chekckng boxes and relaying their findings.
I give the basic respect I give to all people to the reviewers on gaming sites, but as critics I think the reviewers for traditional news outlets are more trustworthy, if a bit less well rounded in their experience.

If DarkLink was a real reviewer, he would give almost every popular modern game a bad score :P
Manjaw? lol.....but she's beautifullI hate XPlay, they're a joke. They were awesome when they were Extended Play back in the glory days of their reviews and game coverage, but Sessler and Manjaw are two of the most inane, bickering dingbats in game journalism.

Adam Sessler is one of the most objective reviewers out there. His reviews always present the game, what it is and sets out to accomplish, and states if it does so with/without flaw. Then, he gives is own opinion on it. That is exactly what a review should be.
Chris Watters is the best reviewer i recon.JohnF111
If that is the guy that hosts On the Spot, I couldn't disagree more. Isn't he in charge? If that is the case isn't he the one responsible for all the inflated reviews?
See, the scores actually made sense in the past, on gs. Now however, if you look at todays scores, and scores from the past, they just make no sense because of what has happened. For example: You'll see X game score, say, a 9.0. Then you'll see sequel to X game score an 8.0-8.5. Now, if you played the first game perhaps this should be the case. However, most of the time a sequel improves in many areas. Each game should be scored based on its own merits. I brought this up because I'm not one who rushes out and buys every game/big release. I do get around to them, though. So often times I run into the question of, "wait, this one is newer, but isn't as good, YET it fixed some problems."

Yeah that's annoying as hell to see, it's just really bad reviewers i mean look at Uncharted 3, it's much improved upon Uncharted 2 yet scored less, what?!!? Its a better looking and playing game yet scored less, that's the problem with reviewers they only give it a score based solely on the game at hand and not the merits of previous games, with Infamous the karma system was much loved yet in Infamous 2 it was a terrible thing... How bad does a reviewer need to be to judge a game on his mood that day.Adam Sessler use to be better.....morgan is a joke. (super mario galaxy 2 too cartoony pffffffffftttt wut?!!Other M sexist.Skyward Sword too much same even though first game to use motion+ good)
Anyways.....I use to love watching reviews on the run with Victor Lucas and Tommy Tallarico they were so much fun to watch, Victor is still good but I hate that new guy he reviews games with he just some nerdy looking douchebag.
But Mark from Classic Game Room is one of the best out there right now.
Classic Games Room barely reviews the game at hand. It really is more of a lengthy gameplay reel with snippets of opinion.
I prefer reviews in the form of video, I love the voice of GT and I think GT is the best review site overall so I guess they get some respect from me?

ForceFreeze
and stuff not related to the game aswell, but they can be fun and he does point out some interesting things about games/hardware, he's cool in my book.

He seems like a very nice guy, but very very insecure about something. At least in all the videos...
I don't respect any reviewers. I don't care who reviews any game. What I do, and what I think everyone SHOULD do, is read the written review (or watch the video review) and then make up their mind if the game will or won't be for them based on the pros and cons listed. Just because a reviewer likes or dislikes a game for any reason, doesn't mean you will like or dislike it for the same reasons.
All you are really asking here is "which reviewers are most likely to tell you what you want to hear."

Well, obviously he feels insecure!PS3 owners are hunting him!:P
I assume TC never saw the X-play reveiw of Red Orchestra 1. An embarrassment to game reveiws everywhere.

You should compare the score of Uncharted 3 to games like Gears 3, not Uncharted 2.From GameSpot: Kevin-V, Chris Watters, Carolyn PetitBPoole96I'll agree with this - Gamespot U.S. reviewers.
Sessler's apparently considered to be a jackass by most people in the industry. Morgan Webb is...dumb.
A long time ago, I thought GS was the best, but after that Kane & Lynch fiasco and the obviously bought GTA4 review, I think their reviews are suspect at best.
For honest reviews, I go to various forums and see what regular people are saying about the games they've actually played. If for some reason I really need a solid numerical value for a game, I'll check out the more indie review sites that are less likely to be under pressure from publishers and advertising revenue.
It sometimes makes me sad when I see how much value a lot of people here put into scores, as if it hasn't occurred to them how strange it is that there's an 8.0-10.0 review scale now on games from big budget developers.
