Which Saints Row Should I Pop On

Steam is having a Saints Row weekend sale. 2, 3, and 4 are all about $5.

From what I understand older ones are like GTA and 4 gives your super hero powers?

Which one would you guys recommend? Best balance of gameplay/story.

Pretty sure people say that 2 is the best, but i've read it takes some tweaking on PC

I've personally only played 3, 4, and gat out of hell

3 is better than 4, and gat out of hell is just a standalone DLC.

SRIV is basically the ideas from the SR3 Trouble with Clones DLC made into a full game

I'm not sure how the series performs on PC as I only played the series on the 360. From that I would say 2 was the best in the series.

Just pick any, they're all fun.

2 has more content, but lacks fast car entry and wacky finishers.

I really liked 2 and for only $5 I would go for it. Kinda an over the top GTA.

i'd get saints row 3 and 4. You don't get super powers until 4. But both are really good, i liked the 4th one because of the super powers. These games are amazing and after playing them it was impossible to get into GTA 5.

Saints row 1 and 2 aren't that good, they are kinda crappy games and too much like GTA. But 2 is a bit better than 1, but both can be skipped easily. I've heard SR2 is really buggy on PC compared to the 360 version. But SR3 and SR4 play silky smooth on PC.

I thought the story was quite good... which you don't really expect from that type of game.

Saint's Row II is one of the best open world games I've ever played. It's just over the top fun.

Saint's Row III and IV took a different direction, and I didn't like them that much.

saints row 2 and 3 are pretty good.

2 is the best IMO, 3 just turned up the stupid humour to the max but the game play and levels sucked

Saints Row The Third is a fucking blast. Enjoy 4 as well, but it requires you to be a bit invested in the previous Saints Row games to enjoy it.

They'd need to pay me to play any one of these garbage games.

Well because of this topic I just got 2, 3, and 4 for $13 and change. Never played any on PC before so why not. They are no GTA5 but I liked SR2 as much as GTA4.

Well, I've only played Saints Row: The Third, but it sure was a lot of fun.

Bwahahah! Console peasants suck my balls! I can get all three Saints Row games for $5 a piece on Steam while console players would have to pay 2-4 times that just to play on their weak consoles. And people keep saying PC gaming is too expensie. Master race FTW!!

Saints Row 2 is the best, it has a nice balance of toilet humour and dark comedy. The gameplay hasn't aged well but the story and characters hold the game together. It's true the PC version is a terrible port, but thanks to the modding community theres a mod called 'Gentlemen of the Row' which is an overhaul with unofficial patches. The mod even includes a fan recreation of the DLC (since it never released on PC)

Saints Row 3 & 4 are okay games, I didn't really enjoy them as much as SR2. They've cranked up the toilet humour to 100 and ditched the somewhat serious story telling from SR2. I wouldn't call SR3 & 4 bad games, especially when played in co-op with a friend. I feel SR2 is overall the best game in the series.
