Which shooter is the best?

I voted for Half-life. :D

It's quite clearly Halo:D.

And Doom is a little redundant.

Doom hasn't been good for a long while, never played Goldeneye, I think Half Life is the pinnacle of the genre, Halo is overrated and I got bored with Crysis 2 after 30 minutes.

Out of those FPSs I think Doom is the best, followed closely by Half-Life. ;)

Crysis 1 had one of the best campaigns I've ever played. It's very tough but I'd probably have to give it to Halo for being great all around Especially Halo CE.

funny you ignore COD, 4 is one of the best games ever, and i loved MW2 as well. treyarch's releases, not so much.

Halo is clearly the best though, and this is coming from someone who has played every game on that list...grew up on Doom.

I will never understand the Half-life fanboyism. I like most of Valve's games and I am pretty sure it is people wanting to be loyal to their hero's but Half-life is a boring drag with piss poor gun mechanics. Halo drills it in the butt. That list is pretty terrible OP.

Half-Life is boring, Everytime I get to the part where you fight those zombie-like monstersat night (in the cemetary I think)I always lose intrest.

The beginning is okay put the vehicle sections kill it for me.

My choice is Halo.

If we're doing it based on which shooter is the most influential, the order would be:

You mean half-life, the first half-life game, or the series as a whole?

The first HL is my all time favorite single-player experience. Exciting story, fun enemies, clever puzzles, fun weapons, VERY fun setting (black mesa rocks) and overall a unique experience. The expansions opposing force and blue shift are awesome as well.

Unfortunately, The second one (HL2) is a crap overrated and boring game with bad gunfights, uninspired story and lame setting. The weapons of HL2 sucks as well. Combine soldiers sucks. Ravenholm sucks. Gravity Gun sucks. City 17 sucks. Driving boats on sewers sucks.

Far Cry and Doom 3 (both also from 2004) are way better than Half-life 2.

such an odd group of games to compare. i vote halo.

I can understand someone not liking the game, I just love it. And my first FPS was Wolf 3D. Then Doom II. It was pretty simultaneous. :P

The best shooting mechanics this gen though go to F.E.A.R. hands-down. That original game is boss!

F.E.A.R was definitely awesome...one of my favorite games of all time. the sequels, not so much.
