When it comes to video games, which sites do you trust the most and value their opinion before you buy a game, assuming that you check a review before you buy a game. Or do you like to keep things simple and just use an overall score with something like Metacritic?

For myself, I try to use Gamespot and IGN as my main choices, while glancing at Metacritic just out of curiosity.

I make my own mind usually. After playing computer games for so long i am able to recognize quality.

As for sites just Game Spot its the only sight i actually visit for games.

Official forums of games are another place i lurk sometimes but that hardly counts.

Giant Bomb is really the only site I "trust", partly because I'm familiar with all the reviewers (there are only 5, I think) and they're all awesome.

That doesn't mean I don't trust other sites at all. I think GS, Gametrailers, and (to a lesser extent) IGN, give fairly accurate ratings for the most part.

None, although I do like GameTrailers, even if I don't always agree with them.

I tend to respect Edge, Eurogamer, 1up and GamesTM the most as publications and enjoy their reviews although I often disagree with them.

I tend to go by IGN, but I check their link to gamestats as well and look at a few of those reviews.

I mainly use IGN for reviews, but I don't really trust anyone's opinion before buying a game. I make my own opinion based on videos, games features, demo(If any available) etc.

I like Gametrailers. And my own opinions. GS is a load of crap and IGN can't be trusted.

Gamespot and ign :)

Same here, although Ign seems to be untrust worthy when it comes to straight news, and Gamespot seems a little less trust worthy when it comes to reviews... or at least, I disagree with alot of them.

Bottom line, if Gamespot, IGN, and Gametrailers all agree on some level or another, or 2/3 agree, I agree, review wise.

I like GameTrailers the best, but I don't rely on reviews that much anymore.

People always kill IGN for saying they grade a little too "easy" but i like them a lot. They seem to always be more consistant w/ their reviews than other sites. At the end of the day when you go to a site lke Gamerankings where it takes the average, IGN's score seems to always be very close to that score (few exceptions). Gamespot has just had way too many inconsistancies in my book. Almost suspect scores on some games. I never even read their reviews i just look at the score that laugh at the chaos that ensues afterwards on system wars. lol.

None, I only trust myself. Why should the score given by a "critic" impact whether I enjoy the game or not?

If I'm on the fence about a game, I probably won't be buying it, but if the rare occassion did come up, I'd look at player reviews and gametrailers.com.

The only sites i agree with more often than not are Game Revolution and Thevideogamecritic.net. They seem to review games based on how much fun they are to play, not only how technnologically advanced they are.
