[QUOTE="Pimpshigity21"][QUOTE="Javy03"] If MS bought them and just made the EA devision make games for the 360 then they would hemmorrage money until the entire company would pull out like SEGA.
Javy03
They could still make games for the Wii and the PC...drive the PS3 out of the market...and then rule supreme over the gaming world.
I don't think this would be good for gamers though, so I hope this does not occur.
Could it happen? Yes...and it would not surprise me.
Will it happen? Probably not.
Again notpossible. Have you seen Madden's sales on the Wii. THe PS3 actually sold alot more Madden's then the Wii with a much smaller fanbase.
Are you saying that EA would go out of business if the PS3 goes the way of the Dreamcast? I doubt that. I mean, I doubt that EA would sease to be...not that PS3 will be discontinued.
They couldnt chase the PS3 out because Japan at the least buys alot more PS3s then 360s and EA games are not important to them.Javy03
If there is no PS3 in Japan, perhaps there could be lots more 360s. I don't think the PS3 could survive with only the Japanese market...and I don't think the PS3 could survive worldwide without the games EA publishes.
If MS aquired EA by some crazy miracle, they would have to downsize and sell divisions of it to the point where it would be a pointless purchase.Javy03
You just don't know how much money MS has. They could probably buy EA with the profits they make in a couple of years. No need to sell or downsize.
You are also forgetting the very real possibility of devs leaving EA out of anger for being locked to one system and forming their own gaming division to make games multiplat,Javy03
LOL. Now this point is funny. Everybody working for EA right now is probably a minion of the devil. I hardly think that EA programmers are in it for the sake of art or the integrity of gaming.
And why would they quit if there is no PS3 in existence to develop for?
Now don't get me wrong. I don't think this is a viable scenario, but I don't think it is an impossibility if MS was hell bent on putting the PS3 out of its misery once and for all.
