Alright:
PS3:
Pros - HD capabilities, Blu-ray, 60GB hard drive, wireless controller, built in wi-fi, solid online service, extra multimedia format slots, great list of games in development, superior backwards compatability
Cons - High price point, lack of multitasking, somewhat clunky interface navigation, web browser mediocre, only comes with composite cables, library slowly gathering exceptional games
Xbox 360:
Pros - HD capabilities, multimedia options, top-notch game library, solid online content, well integrated multitasking features, fantastic controller, packaged in goodies (headset, component cables), XBL is the premiere online service
Cons - Lack of pre-installed wi-fi, XBLA is hit and miss, loud, has greater potential for breakdowns than competitors, evolution over revolution, passable backwards compatability
Wii:
Pros - Low price point, innovative controller, deepening list of retro classic games, interesting Mii character creation application, solid backwards compatibility, Wii channels prove engaging, pack-in game (Wii sports), well designed
Cons - No multimedia features (save for photos), no online gaming integration (yet), weak library of games released and in development (albeit a few exceptions), long list of peripherials to purchase (how many controllers can one have?), shock & awe quickly wears off
Probably the best non-biased post you will get here in system wars. How is XBLA a hit and a miss though? it owns.Alright:

Some games are definitely worth purchasing for a couple of bucks. But honestly, not every game up there is worth its weight in gold and even the retro classics (like SFII: Hyper Fighting, for example) tend to be thrown out there with very little touch ups that make it an overall down experience. Games like Marble Blast Ultra, Geometry Wars, and Alien Hominid HD definitely are worthy of your money, but a lot of the others just aren't. You can satisfy your boredom with demos of the games rather than outright purchasing them, which overall contributes to the premiere state of XBL.

True, I've only bought a few XBLA games. Being able to demo them is really nice. I do plan on buying SOTN/TMNT/DD, though. Oh and Contra rules. Please Log In to post.
