Nintendo for me. It is roughly the same as the original Xbox except it has a remote. And the accessories are mad expensive. $60 for a pair of controllers!

I'd say 360...paying for batteries again and again...XBL...wifi would've been nice was a hassle to put another wire going through walls and all...same price as PS3 games which uses blu ray..so they should be cheaper(or am I missing something there). But for the PS3 the controllers are a lot.

The one making the most profit off of hardware sales with the smallest selection of quality games, of course. That would be the... Nintendo Wii.

The X360 by far... Expensive proprietary HDDs, next gen. movie player add-on, and wi-fi adapters plus $50 a year to play games on-line... This isn't much of a debate...

If people wanted to buy original games and bought a Wii= consumer ripped off

If people wanted to buy a reliable console and bought a 360= consumer ripped off

If people wanted a excellent online service and bought a ps3= consumer ripped off

Well, if you are considering wifi, and to upgrade that mere 13gigs of hdd space, you have no other options.....

Microsofts XBLG.

No justification for forcing people to pay the price of a new game, just to play games they already own online for a year.

A pure example of a pure money making scheme that is pure ripoff

Sure, Xbox 360 is expensive if you need all those extra accessories. But if you want to play high-definition single-player games, you just can't get any cheaper than the 360 (and never will).

i would say MS...the controlers are mad expencive, and you still need to buy a battery pack.

then you could go with a wired connection to go live, saving you about 50$ depending on how big you need...but thats still 100$.

then all the microtransactions

the list goes on

I voted for the 360. But it doesnt rip you off, the accessories rip you off. And live costs money. I guess I should of voted for the ps3 because I can't justify a purchase yet, well except it looks sexy. My laptop has blu-ray.

360, all the add ons and such it ends up costing you alot of money, the ps3 imo, is a much better value. I cant get over the 100$ for wifi, i mean wtf... i had to get that, xbl member ship, and halo 3 for my cousins birthday, it costed me like over 200$, i wish he got a ps3 lol, i would have just gotten him a game, it would have saved me 140$

Now if we're talking SYSTEM's here, a big ripoff is high-end PC hardware.

If you buy top notch, you're going to pay 2-2.5k on your computer and you won't need that much power for quite some time. If you wait a year and buy the same components you can get them for half off or more.

Well...Everything that I wanted and had to buy for my 360, I already had them on my PS3 except a bluetooth headset(But that's cool, I don't care.)

I've been ripped off before, this isn't the first time anyways.

What are you talking about? For $300, you get an Xbox 360 with a 20 GB hard drive, SAV/Component HD cables, an ethernet cable, a headset, and I believe a month of Xbox Live Gold. A yearly subscription isn't an absolute necessity and charge kits are only 20 bucks. Playstation 3 40 gig systems cost $400. They don't play any PS2 games at all, they dont come with any sort of headset, and they don't come with any high definition video cables. Why would 360 games cost less since they aren't Blu-Ray format? Games that release on both systems are usually completely identical regardless of the format.

While the 360 is my favorite console this gen, I also think MS is the one that charges for everything. $100 for the wifi adapter, 50 MS points for gamerpics, 150 for themes, etc. I know you don't need to purchase these items, but it is annoying.

Here's why....

Unreliable hardware

Outrageous price to upgrade to a wireless connection.

HDD upgrade prices.

Outdated (and slowly becoming a problem) disk format.

I disagree. A rip off is a rip off no matter how much you need it. IF we really want to argue semantics, then you might want to consider that owning a videogame console is also an optional endeavor in the grand scheme of life. If it is something you want to buy, and you are paying more than you should, its a rip off. I don't think there's really any avoiding that.

In all honesty, and I know I'll get flamed for this, but I think the Wii is the biggest rip-off out of all the consoles.

Sure, you're getting a free video game and wifi capabilities, but Nintendo is still charging you more money than the system is worth; the Nintendo Wii costs less than $250 to manufacture yet Nintendo still sells it for that pricepoint instead of something cheaper, like $150, simply so they can make money off each console sold. The Xbox 360 and PS3 cost $200 over it's default price to manufacture each (for example, it'd cost $550 to build a pro-Xbox 360 kit or $600 for a PS3, yet they're sold for a fraction of the price), so you're paying less money than what the entire package is worth.

Also take into consideration that many of the Wii titles, by review average, are of a pretty low quality. Sure, some games on the Wii are great, such as Super Mario Galaxy, Zack & Wiki and No More Heroes, but only a handful of good games doesn't justify an ocean of pure crappy games.

i almost want to say the 360 cuz of its RRoD problem...but its library makes it worth it imo. the ps3 speaks for itself, highly reliable and a good growing library! the wii? my vote goes to the wii. overpriced hardware with no nunchunk...that would be like MS and sony releasing half of a controller! to top it all off it's library is limited in comparison to what the other consoles have to offer. it's gaming library doesnt look bright as far as future titles; seems like a drought for months, maybe more than a year or 2 to come! this is what makes it a rip off imo

Wii, because almost every game comes with an expensive addition . Mario Kart with a steering wheel, Wii fit with a balance board , crossbow training with a crossbow, etc... That makes it really expensive . Also the controllers are expensive too .

However, PS3 also rips off as you need an additional HDMI cable, ethernet cable which isn't included in your starter set, and you need to upgrade your HDD if you have a 40GB version...

The 360 is the biggest rip off too because of the expensive online, and because : my first didn't have HDMI output, my second RROD , my third was an elite , my fourth will be a blu-ray one ? Come on, the 360 is pure rip-off . Battery pack, wireless ethernet, 120 gig hard disk, messenger pad, it costs you an additional 360 as well !!

Sounds like you guys really need Wi-fi. The $100 does make the system look like a rip-off, but without needing it, it seems like a much better deal. So I guess we can definitely say if you require Wi-fi, the 360 just isn't the best console for the money, since you can save yourself the $100 - plus the $50 a year Gold subscription - by just getting a PS3 and using PSN. Still, there are many circumstances where the 360 gives you the best deal for the money, so it's a mixed bag.

360. I went in one day thinking I'd get one (I have a PS3) and after looking at the the freaking accessories that I'd need to make the 360 the way I'd like it and how much of a rip off they were, I turned around and walked back out of the store. If the 60gb premium package does indeed drop $50 (permantly) in September, I may finally pick one up cuz the $50 will help with the other stuff a bit and I'd be happy with 60gb. 20gb seemed pretty small, and the 120gb upgrade was the biggest rip-off I've ever seen in console accessories. I serious could walk 30ft in the store a grab a HDD with %350+ more space and it would still cost less than the 120GB for the 360. *sigh* nickle and diming at its worst. Well hopefully it will drop, cuz I want some JRPGs, lol

wow its really hard choice. because all 3 ripp you off.

but my vote is for ps3. because its main goal is to get u into hd while the prices are still high. so you gotta go out and buy 2500 dollar 1080p sony hdtv then go out and buy a 500 dollar sony surround sound system. just to watch 30 dollar blue ray movies and then play most ur games in 720p. i`ll leave out the fact that they still make great rpgs on ps2 while ps3 owners get the none. two years deep.....

Between the Wii and 360.

The 360 is more of options, the Wii is more stripped and demanding.

Wii most definately useless addons, not true 1:1 motion sensing like promised but will need an addon to acomplish, no real good games, most games have to be played multiplayer so you have to buy more wii motes and nunchucks...ect

yes, you do have to pay for a lot of extra things, but at least there are games to play.

as for the Wii...

no. It may be cheaper but at least when you're paying for everything on a 360 it's actually WORTH something.

the PS3 is a good deal all around.

imo.
