Depend on what games you like. Do some researchs and see which games fit your style more. You will only going to get opinions from us, and then there might even be casualties
Hopefully the new "Jasper" 360's have mostly solved the RROD issues, but we won't know until a little time passes. Very few PS3's fail, but like all electronics, it's a possibility. Blu-Ray player is reliable and a nice addition to any home theatre setup. Really it jst comes down to the games you want to play. I suggest you look at the exclusives and see which attract you more.
Don't woryy everybody wants the best for their money.
Anyway, the thing here is a bit of luck, either PS3 or the 360 can fail, that's obvious, however the failure rate of the PS3 is way lower than the 360 and the famous RRoD. And the BRP is just as reliable IMO.
I've had a launch 80gb and I'm really happy with it, the faulty models were the 60gb but those are long gone. As for the newer models of the Ps3, I can't say, but the newer 360s have a lil less chance to get the RRoD, however the chances are still higher than the PS3's failure rate.
Well if you dont have a gaming rig, the 360 has a ton of exclusives, but if you do, it doesnt have so many. Just look at the games and compare and pick what you will like best.
The main reason Im asking is a guy that I work with who is reliable, is selling his PS3 cause he said he needs the money and doesn't game much anymore. He offered to sell me his 80gb PS3 for $275 bucks. It's in like new condition. This is a great deal but I get no warranty. Would you guys do it? JDW_games
Paying $257 for a PS3 is almost a steal... I saygo for it.

Yeah, Im thinking that $275 is too hard to pass upI have talked bad about the 360 in the past but I have buddies with both consoles and I can admit they both have some great games. I am getting ready to purchase one of these consoles this weekend and I want to ask a few things .... Which is more reliable? We all know the famous 360 problems, but they do have great customer service I hear to resolve problems. As far a Sony, just recently I've heard about problems with them failing? Is this true? I think the game titles seem pretty even on both consoles, but I do like the fact that PS3 has Blu Ray. Is the Blu Ray player reliable? I just want to make sure I buy the best system for meJDW_games
The Xbox 360 is Far Superior
The Xbox 360 is heavier. So if you drop the Xbox 360 and PS3 from the top of the Empire State Building, the Xbox will reach the ground first, hence winner.
The Xbox 360 controller is bigger. Custom fit for American hands. You can tell because the buttons are in English. Compare to PS3 controller which is made for Japanese School girl hands. The triangle and square area all gibberish to me.
The DVD tray on the Xbox 360 can be used as a cup holder. You know America loves cup holders. This feature is completely missing from the Japanese counterpart.
You can customize the Xbox 360. Everything from external fan to extra HD-DVD player and WIFI adapter. PS3 has everything comewith. Where the individuality?
I can go on and on about Xbox 360 BUT..
Microsoft is an American company and Sony is a Japanese one. If you dont be patriotic and buy American then the terrorists win.

Yeah, Im thinking that $275 is too hard to pass upHmm... I have a PS3 and must say it is indeed awesome. However, ask the guy to plug in the system first so you can make sure its not broken or anything. After all, if he rips you off, Sony isnt going to save your butt. My 2 cents.
To the other guy: Glad you like it. Mozillaisnt letting me copy+paste do you know how long it took me to type it up?!? Like a minute :p

I was roaming the net hither and tither, when I came across another (SIGH) PS3 vs 360 thread, though this was pretty funny. That where I found it, I think it was Amazon? Anyways, im going to bed, g'night y'all!
Oh, and if anybody here has a PS3 ans DOESNT have Killzone 2, SLAP YOURSELF.
I actually met one such man today.
