which video game franchise has the best story line??????

In my opinion, the Metal Gear Solid franchise has the best storyline. Halo... meh, that game is only about gameplay while MGS is all about gameplay and storyline.

Wow thats a game not a series. The series is The Elder Scrolls.

Though it only has 2 games I really like the Baten Kaitos series. Two of the better games last gen, hard to say best storyline of all time though.

Fallout wins, in my opinion. Perfect mix of social commentary, retro-futuristic themes, characters, and black humor.

Metal gear solid... ugh. I still can't see what people see in that game.

I was going to say Metal Gear Solid or KOTOR, but THIS is clearly the winner.

for good storylines i like MGS, FF and Zelda

but mgs gameplay sucks

One word:

Why?

1) Intelligent storyline.
2) Story involves nearly 10,000 years of events!
3) The franchise has its own FULLY-FUNCTIONAL language!!!

I finished Dreamfall, it is good but the ending... err, it ended about 30 hours to soon and left about.. everything unanswered.

I'm also finding TLJ to be good, just started it today. I think it wil lbe better, but not sure yet.

I say again. Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber

almost 2 hours of cinematics, along with about 50 maps, each taking anywhere from half an hour to 2 hours to complete, equals win for story.
