I hear a lot of lems making fun of the PSN problem saying thats what you get in a "free service".

Isn't it funny though how they say this yet everyone of them has had to deal with RROD and very likely wait 2-3 weeks for their refurbished or repaired console to come in...

I am not defending it, I just find it funny that some 360 fans, a lot fo them actually, are making fun of the sitiuation us PS3 users are in yet almost all of them have had todeal with theRROD which leaves you without ANY playing time for 2-3 WEEKS!!!

I'd rather lose online play for a day. But with that said, I've lost online play for a day and I've never lost my system for a few weeks due to overheating. The point you're trying to make is nothing short of stupid, good sir.

I have a PS3 Slim, which wouldn't be affected anyway. Neither.

The one person who voted the second option is an obvious 360 fanboy. :P

Which would I rather have:

a) My online service goes down for aday. Depending on which online service went down, network or ISP, I might not lose anything (Nintendo WFC, PSN, *insert favourite dedicated server here*, a few cents (XBL), or a few dollars(*insert ISP here*).

or

b) My system malfunctions, denying both online and offline service for at least a week. Depending on the warranty, I might have to pay out of my own pocket to get an entirely new system.

I think the choice is obvious, yet the votes aren't unanimous...

None of the above. But we have to wait and see what happens after this 24 hours.

so far for me...

360:

• RROD, free replacement from Microsoft, total time without 360 = 6 days

PS3:

• YLOD, $150 refurbished 60gb from Sony, total time without PS3 = 3 weeks
• Blu-Ray drive failure, sent to Sony, total time without PS3 = 2.5 weeks
• 8001050F, total time without working PS3 = 1 day (and counting)

so one console cost me nothing and 6 days of my time, and the other console cost me $150 and 2 months of my time

overall, i'd prefer not to have either happen to me, hence why i built a ****ing Gaming PC

I don't think the poll options are accurate especially the "Your online service goes out for one day due to a bug in the clock system" option. Because it's not just you can't connect online, you can't play some games online and offline, it corrupts your themes, it corrupts your data, it corrupts your Trophies, and it messes up functionality.

Unlike overheating which you can easily do yourself by not giving proper ventilation or if you over use your system, this bug can occur by anyone just turning on their Fat PS3s. We'll see how this fix will go and we'll see how will they handle the ones that did turn on their Fat PS3s and got this problem unknowingly. Either way I don't want either one to happen.

I'd rather have online screwed up, since I can still enjoy singleplayer games.

I didn't think the PSN was too big of a deal. I mean not playing games for a little over a day never killed anyone. I'd much rather have that than have my console gone for weeks
