Which xbox version will you buy?

The Series S will be incredibly attractive to parents buying for their kids, as well as those with tight finances. There is a viable market there, but I don't have the market research MS would naturally have, in order to decisively show that.

Regardless, i'm upgrading to a 3080, and looking to see what Zen 3 offers, so i'll play MS games on the PC.

We all know nobody will be buying the $299 version.

Anyways, if I were getting one, would get the X. I'd assume most people who frequent gaming forums would do the same.

No current plans for consoles though, just 3090 + new monitors.

An extra 200 is nothing when you consider the oerformance differences. The S makes little sense to me.

X-Series X is way better than the S but still has too many issues for me to jump in on one.

No choice for a $100 XBOS when they're practically being given away after the launch of the new ones? That's what I was going to do. If the series S dropped in price (doubt it will though) then I'd be willing to buy that at $199. Not going to spend something for $300 that'll be useless in 2 years.

Series S with the X later down the line need to prioritise a top of the range 4kTV over anything else.

It’s the Xbox Series X for me. Gotta have that optical drive and all the other bells and whistles.

I can see the Xbox Series S doing pretty well for itself though, that a pretty damn tempting price point. I think it’s an interesting and smart strategy by Microsoft.

I have a PC, so neither, but if I was going to get one it would the Series X. I don’t like forced digital on consoles and the power difference for the dollar amount is much more appealing.

I already have a 1X. Why would I buy a weaker Series S? Only poors without a 4K TV would buy that pile of junk.

The Sex since I already own an xbox one x. I always go for the most powerful version of a console. Paying 200-300 USD extra for the premium version is fine.

I still don't get why people like the OP think that everybody is a "hardcore" gamer, outside the every day Joe and soccer mom will find the S version to be budget friendly pretty much like the Wii was, besides, most people don't own a 4k screen and don't care about it at all nor are going to rush in order to get one. At your home everybody has screen, only one, mine is 4K, at my mom's house there's 3 screen and none is 4K.

Which one I am going to get ? probably the X because I'm still interested in having the optical drive, even though I'm sure my library will end up being mostly digital as it has been happening since the X360.

Going with Series S, will allow me to get Ps5 at same time.

I don't have any interest in physical copies anymore since I've gone all-digital. I also never really cared about having THE BEST graphics, so 4K never mattered a lot to me. The Series S just makes more sense for someone like me.

At this point I am not even sure if I will get it at launch. Probably not. We'll see. Sometime in 2021 is definitely likely though.

My One S All-Digital is pretty new, and I have a lot of old games to work on. I will probably use the Series S for newer stuff and my current console for older games.

@blaznwiipspman1: Think again, friend. There's a pandemic on. People are looking to save where they can. And paying $200 more for features you can't use anyway (assuming someone buying a series x doesn't own a 4k display either) is a huge waste of money during these difficult times. It's a masterstroke if you ask me.

Why would you do that? You know the Series S will play all current Xbox One games right? So unless you intend to keep your console in another room or for someone else to use in your home, there really is no need to keep your Xbox One S all digital.
