Who actually owns a PS3, and is getting bored of it?

I have owned a PS3 since December. I beat Resistance in about a week, and have played the multiplayer a lot, but I am now tired of the game. I also played games like Motorstorm, Genji, FA2, Warhawk Beta, and Untold Legends, but none of these games were very good.

I want some new games, but there are no good exclusives out there, and the only one in the coming months is Lair.

I am pretty bored of the PS3, and I think it has a lot of potential, but I've yet to see any of that.

This is why I wait at least a year before I ever get a console. I haven't gotten a console on launch since Xbox, but I ended up selling it because of initial disappointment (then bought it back a few years later; yes, I'm an idiot).

Last year at this time were you bored of playing the 3 or 4 good games the 360 had.  Probably.  I am sure everything got pretty exciting around the time GeoW and R6:V game out.  Just like how the PS3 has quite a few games that should be good coming out at that time in HS, Drakes Fortune, Ratchet and Clank, Lair.  The only really known franchise is R&C but GeoW wasn't a known franchise either.

If you are insecure enough that you have to boast (on a game board remember) that you have a life, it obviously means that you actually don't have a life.

I work and come home and relax, so you are right I don't have much of a life, but I don't have time to have a life when I'm working most of the time. It doesn't take a month to beat an 8 hour game, unless you are not very good at it.

Not to be rude but maybe your a terrible gamer?  I'm married with a child a career job and mortgage and I managed to spend a little time each evening to beat Gears Of War in a week, CoD2 in a week and Splinter Cell:DA in a week... Basically, what I'm saying is there was no reason for you to call out his life when I can assure you that we all have responsibility.  

To the TC... I don't own a PS3 and I don't plan on owning one... I didn't own a PS2 or PS1 either... However I can offer some parallel... I owned a gamecube day one and was so excited for the library of games to grow and grow.  I ended up waiting for nothing.  Every once in a while a cool game would surface but for the most part it was a paperweight.  Advice:  Sell the Foreman and go for a 360... Its delivering tenfold.  Just yesterday I went out and bought GRAW for 19.99 and Saints Row for 24.99 two awesome games for less than a copy of the crapfest Genji....

not me man. i havnt completed resistance story yet cuz wen i was half way through i started playing online and got hooked. not bored a bit at all! also wen i maybe do get bored of the online i hav a story to get back to. and i just play motorstorm online sometimes. spread it out like play every other day or weekends. works a great treat :P

Yeah, I usually beat most games in a week also, unless the game is really bad, then I just turn it off and never play it again.

I am afraid that the PS3 is the new GCN, and that it won't get a lot of 3rd party support, because of low sales. I thought the GCN had good games, but they were spread out so far apart, and had huge dry spells inbetween.

I have lost a lot of faith in Sony's 1st parties. Resistance was great, but Motorstorm, Genji, and Untold Legends were all very mediocre.

Having a life part, ment that I don't play games every day, and when I do its for a very few hours.  Thats why those games took so long to beat.  I'm married too, with a career, and still in college.  I don't play every day like I wish I did, but I simly have a family to take care of.  I also have a child on the way.  So if you work 8 hours a day and play 2 hours or so every day, what time do you give to your wife?  3 hours a day?  So your married to ur games and ur wife  sorta.  Or maybe its a shallow relationship.  You do what you do, and she'll do what she does.

I got a 360 at launch, and I wasn't bored. There was Condemned, Kameo, PDZ, Quake 4, Oblivion, Prey, Saint's Row, Dead Rising, PGR3, Oblivion, and DOA4 all within the first 8 or so months.

 

I just wonder if it was actually worth $600 when it hasn't had any worthwhile games except Resistance. We are all waiting for Lair, Heavenly Sword, and Uncharted, but how do we know these will be good when 3 of the 1st partty games so far have been subpar.

We don't. And worth is subjective. It's worth it for me because it'll have the games I want down the pipeline, and I bought it early so I dont have to worry about the b/c in the future.

If you aren't sure those games will be worth it than maybe you shouldn't have bought it.

It isn't the PS3's fault you bought it too early before seeing how the games were going to be. You have no one to blame but yourself.

play some older games that you havent played yet? i ended up buying dragon quest 8 yesterday and started to play it. There arent any good ps3 games out right now and i needed a break from playing certain 360 games that i been playing lately.istreakforfood

8 hours? lol maybe if your rushing through easy mode.  I never play easy settings, and never rush through games.  If I'm gonna pay 60 bucks for a game I'm going to enjoy it, not piss through it.  And I said a couple hours every now and then.  Meaning I might play Monday, then thursday.  then Sunday.  Sorta stretches out a 13 to 14 hour game doesn't it.  I also put in 100+ hours in Final Fantasy 12 leveling all characters and earnings lots of stuff.  I paid for it so I'm gonna play the game out, not just beat the story.  Same goes for Elder scrolls, I'm getting getting side tasks done, thief guide, mage stuff related.  I walk in elderscrolls instead of jumping from point to point on the maps.

As far as the current libray of games, sure maybe u are bored.  But why cry about it when you probably don't even own all the games on ur previous systems worth buying either.  I just bought God of War II and play it on my ps3.  1080p upscaling :).  I also play the resident Evil series over and over.  WHy because I like them.

yea my ps3 was collecting dust for months and im finally actually using it. no worries man, i put 165 hours in to oblivion before my 360 HD died :( i've also been playing shadowrun for like 3 days straight :S it's a good thing the weathers been **** or i'd feel kinda bad about it, heh.

about a month ago, I got into Resistance multiplayer, and I'm addicted. Customizing your character is fun. The ranking system is great and spurs you on to win. I am now a brigadier general. The unlockables in the campaign were entertaining as well. I beat the single-player game about 5 times, and I am currently striving to beat it again on highest difficulty so I can get the Spec Ops skin for multiplayer. stuff like this on PS3's flagship title is a good indicator for the future competitiveness of PSN against XBox Live. ;)Mordred19

don't go telling people to get a life when you've put over 100 hours in to FF12. you're not fooling anyone, lmao.

no worries man, i put 165 hours in to oblivion before my 360 HD died :( i've also been playing shadowrun for like 3 days straight :S it's a good thing the weathers been **** or i'd feel kinda bad about it, heh.

Shadowrun is such a great game. I've been having a blast with it.

no kidding. totall knocked me on my ass - i was expecting crap and kinda bought the game out of some morbid curiosity.. but damned is it fun as hell :D

I have owned a PS3 since December. I beat Resistance in about a week, and have played the multiplayer a lot, but I am now tired of the game. I also played games like Motorstorm, Genji, FA2, Warhawk Beta, and Untold Legends, but none of these games were very good.

I want some new games, but there are no good exclusives out there, and the only one in the coming months is Lair.

I am pretty bored of the PS3, and I think it has a lot of potential, but I've yet to see any of that.
