I think the PS3 will eventually be the #1 platform of choice come late 2009. Wii will continue to reign supreme until then. Nintendo will most likely have an ace up its sleeve and launch its successor soon after, though.BioShockOwnz
You let me know how that wishful thinking turns out.

I don't mean that it's going to outsell its current sales and its sales up until late 2009, but it'll start outselling it at some point.

Why the heck did you create this thread asking our opinions if your just going to bash them?

Like you needed to ask. This guy's some sort of demented fanboy ,constanly dreaming up these same sorts of topics,he doesn't want to hear an opposing opinion, just one he happens to agree with.
I think the PS3 is like the Super Nintendo. A good quality system well worth the money that won't see its best games until quite late in it's lifespan. That being said, I think Nintendo is growing too far ahead that a PS3 victory is highly unlikely. Will it beat the 360? maybe...
Only way I could see that happening is if:
- Sony drops the price of the 40GB to $300
- Sony switches out the SixAxis with the DualShock 3 in it
- Sony stops selling their own damn 6-Hour, first-party titles at $60 a game.

they need to find away to convince the ps2 fans to by their consoles. ps2 fans seem to be stuck in last gen. I want a ps3 but my pockets dont...As a former ps2 fan I just decide to wait and go play ff7 for psp. Which is basically what I have dont with every Playstation.Wait! Its never hurts to wait on ps system because two gens in a row sony found a way to max the consoles life to like 6,7.
You do realize that cows are the faction that need to get back down to earth, and away from Planet Bovine, right? Of course, there are some cows that still think that, don't be surprised if it's a majority either.Eponique
sigh...it's possible, but a low probability.
I believe that when it's all said and done, the PS3 will be the console with most units sold. When will that happen? Don't ask me, there's no way we can know when will the PS3 die. The PS2 is still going strong after 8 years.Just curious to see if any of these people still exist.

Anything is possible. But like I said: Reality is what counts.

PS3 =/= PS2.
well anythings possible....but the way things are currently going its highly unlikely.
to be honest i dont think theres much sony can really do about that either. if it does happen, it will because nintendo make a very very stupid mistake rather than sony doing anything amazing. at the mo ninty just has the markets favour and thats a very very hard thing to beat. sony should know...they had it for 2 gens in a row.

You're right, they're not the same console, but they are made by the same company and if Sony could make the PS1 and PS2 as successful as they were, who are you to say they can't make the PS3 as successful as its predecessors?i don't think cows even think that, they just act like the wii will stop selling and the ps3 will start.shoeman12
and what u say just made sense because ps3 isnt selling and lets say it is selling its not selling well.

i think that the ps3 will pass the wii but there is a good chance that will be after the next nintendo console is release.
Depends on what the rules are.
If the gen ends when the first of the three bows out, no. Ms won't let this gen go too far before they launch another early riser.
If this gen ends whenever each individual console's maker ends its support, yes. With the PS2 outselling any other console this month, once again Sony shows all how long time console support is done. And there's no indication that PS3 won't receive the same lengthy support. And if that happens, PS3 will outsell Wii.
That is, if Nintendo has support on the Wii like GameCube.
Its all ifs and "I think". Hard to say what will happen.

What? check the numbers again. it was the Wii outselling any other console by about 200,000
Wii is over 10 million units ahead of PS3 ,and that number is growing every week and it's expected to be 15-20 million units more by the end of this year ..if PS3 pulls out a miracle and catches the Wii in worldwide sales ...I WILL QUIT GAMESPOT FORUM FOREVER

Except the Wii and if we're counting handhelds since this is System Wars, then the PSP and the DS as well.
